Middle School Principal’s Letter

Dear Parents,

Thank you for reading this week’s version of the News and Views. We have made it through the first week of school with our Blended Learning schedule. I want to reassure you that from a teacher and administration perspective, we are ecstatic about seeing the kids back on campus.

We believe that reinforcing the strict measures we have in place will help keep us going forward safely and healthily. As parents, we ask you to practice the same protocol at home to help form the student’s new habits. A quote goes like this; “First, you form your habits, then your habits form you.”

Please remember to provide your child with a labeled water bottle. To reduce the student’s backpack contents, remember to support us by going through it each day before they come to school. At the moment, they should only be bringing what they need for that day. All students who purchased a supply packet should have received it by now. Please let us know if your child still needs one, and send the money in an envelope to the middle school’s office.

Next week Tuesday, September 1st, we will be holding our Back to School Night virtually at 5:00 pm. I will start with a big-picture overview of the new school year; then, each child’s parents will have a more intimate advisory session with advisory teachers for ten minutes. Parents will then have an opportunity to watch a short introduction video by each of their child’s teachers. We will share the links to these early next week.

Congratulations to all of our community for the triumphant return to campus. I have no doubt our perspectives of cautious optimism and positivity will carry us during these times.

Thank you for your continuous support of the middle school.

In Partnership,

Courtney Bailey
Middle School Principal

From the MS/HS Library

Community hours for the CAC libraries
Both CAC libraries will be open on Saturdays between 10 and 2 for our parents, faculty and students, for 30 minute appointments. Please book your time on the CAC Dashboard where you see “Campus Facilities Online Appointments.”

You will be asked for the number of people coming. If you are a parent, please include your child/ren in the count. We can only have 10 patrons in the library at a time. Appointment requests are only accepted until Friday, at 7 pm. You will not be able to come on to campus without an appointment.

Please note that library community hours are ONLY for Saturdays at this time. The weekday lunchtime appointment slots are only for HS students.

Parents can only check out on Saturdays. We will resume holds delivery in a modified format when we have received all the students’ books back from the summer.

Library materials are now due
Please return all your library materials checked out during last school year. There are drop boxes outside the MS gate and the ES gate 6 until September 1. After that, please send your books with your student to deposit at the libraries.

After September 1, students with overdue books may find their access to Skyward blocked.
