Middle School Principal’s Letter

Dear Parents,

Thank you for taking the time to read this week’s version of the news and views. It was a busy week on campus.

Thank you to all the parents and students who attended the online parent-teacher conferences on Monday and Tuesday. We hope you found these conferences informative and valuable.

Thanks to Ms. Torky, Ms. Urbiztondo, Ms. Spencer, and our STUCO students for organizing the Halloween Social on Thursday from 5:30 – 7:30. Mabrouk to Ms. Genidy and her Art classes for their efforts in decorating the building for the social. It has been a collaborative effort. Kudos to the parents who have contributed candies for the “Trick or Treat” on Thursday!

Halloween celebration is unique to Middle School students because they get to be whomever or whatever they want. We encourage students to wear their costumes on Sunday when the Advisories are having a door-decorating competition.

On Wednesday, November 10th, I will be hosting a coffee morning at 8:15 AM in room 115. The topic we will be discussing is the Growth Mindset. The failure our children experience when we back off and allow them to make their own mistakes is a necessary part of learning; these experiences teach them how to be resilient, capable, and creative problem-solvers.

We are looking forward to welcoming you to watch the drama production of the Egyptian Pirates. The performance will be on November 18th and 19th. As time draws near, I will be sending an email out with all the information.

Thank you for your continuous support of the Middle School.

In Partnership,
Courtney Bailey
The Middle School Principal

From the PTO – AIM Survey
CAC have engaged with the National Association of Independent Schools to use their Assessment of Inclusivity and Multi-culturalism to gauge and improve the inclusiveness of our school community for all members.

A component of that process is an anonymous survey, designed and tested by the NAIS, and administered by their organization to ensure security, anonymity, and confidentiality of the information that each respondent shares.

We are asking you to take 15-20 minutes out of your busy schedule to complete this survey by Tuesday, November 2, 2021. You can access the survey by clicking on one of the following links:

English Survey

Arabic Survey

Below are a few other things to keep in mind as you progress through the survey:

  1. The survey can be completed on a laptop, desktop, tablet or smartphone device.
  2. You must complete all of the required questions in order to advance through the evaluation. Required questions are marked with a red asterisk.
  3. As you move from page to page in the evaluation, please use the Back and Next buttons at the bottom of each survey page.
  4. The system will record your response as you advance through the questions. You can leave the survey at any time, and return later to resume your response. Simply click Save and Resume Later. The system will generate a URL for you to use in returning to the point where you left off and continuing your entry. You can choose to copy that URL and save it, or to have the system e-mail the URL to you.

Thank you for taking the time to complete this very important assignment.

Sincerely,

DEI Design Team

The PTO Cookbook
Thank you to all the members of the CAC community who have submitted favorite recipes for the PTO cookbook. With the help of an awesome team of HS language liaisons, we sent invitations to submit recipes in 8 languages to parents, students, administration, faculty & staff, GSS, security and alumni, and have collected almost 40 so far! Our goal is 50. Please, help us meet our goal and submit your family favorite recipe using this form. We also welcome artwork and photos of CAC from students in all divisions to include in the cookbook and make it truly special. Please email images to cacptodei@cacegypt.org. The deadline for submissions is Sunday, 10/31.
Thank you, PTO DEI Committee
