Middle School Principal’s Letter

Dear Parents,

Thank you for reading this week’s version of the News and Views. It was a great week of experiential learning for our students.

This week, we stepped outside the classroom to allow students to live the five principles of experiential learning: engagement, reflection, application, collaboration, and ownership. Through hands-on tasks, field experiences, and simulations, students learned by doing, thinking critically, and applying their knowledge in real-world contexts.

Experiential learning moves beyond reading and listening; it challenges students to actively participate, connect theory with practice, and reflect on their experiences. This approach deepens understanding, builds essential skills, and fosters personal growth by helping students become more capable, confident, and ready for life beyond the classroom.

We would like to thank you, our parents, for your partnership in making this memorable experience possible for your child. All photos will be uploaded to the grade-level Google Classroom that has been shared with you.

Please also check the Parent-Teacher Conference email to register for an upcoming conference time. If you are unable to attend on the designated days, kindly contact your child’s teacher to arrange an alternative meeting time. Students are expected to accompany their parents to all scheduled conferences.

From CAC PTO

A Sustainably Spooky Initiative in Collaboration with Nestlé!

Hello CAC families, this Halloween season, the CAC PTO is proud to launch a sustainability initiative in collaboration with Nestlé, bringing creativity and environmental awareness together for a greener celebration.

As part of this initiative, Nestlé generously donated plastic bottles to our Halloween Decorations Committee, inspiring our volunteers to upcycle water bottles into spooky, sustainable decorations

Nestlé, a company committed to sustainability, continues to lead by example as the first company to provide water in recycled bottles. These recycled water bottles will be available for purchase at the Halloween Carnival, offering our community a simple, practical way to make environmentally conscious choices.

In addition, Nestlé will oversee waste management during the Halloween Carnival, ensuring that all waste generated is responsibly collected, recycled, and transformed into new products helping reduce our environmental footprint.

To keep sustainability going beyond the event, a Reverse Vending Machine (RVM) will be placed on campus for an entire month. Families can recycle their plastic bottles from home and contribute to this important cause. At the end of the month, all collected bottles will be sold to a recycling plant, with 100% of the proceeds donated to The Children’s Cancer Hospital 57357.

This initiative will also extend to our students, who will participate in community service and sustainability field trips as part of the collaboration.

And to make it even more fun, we’re hosting a “Guess How Many Bottles” competition this week! Students can try to guess how many recycled bottles were used in our Halloween decorations. The closest guess will win a special treat and the opportunity to join one of the sustainability field trips.

As you walk around campus, don’t forget to check out the recycling facts displayed near our decorations! Each fact shares an eye-opening look at how recycling helps conserve resources and protect our environment.

Together with Nestlé, we’re proving that sustainability and celebration can go hand in hand. Let’s all do our part — reduce, reuse, and recycle— to keep our planet clean, our community strong, and our future bright. Here’s to a spooktacular and sustainable Halloween at CAC!
