Standardized Testing: Upcoming ACT

The test date is Saturday, February 8th and the registration deadline is January 17th. In order to reserve your spot, students should register early as CAC is an open test center. The test site may fill up with other students, and we can’t hold seats open for CAC students. The room has a capacity of 30 seats.

So, students should plan ahead if they will apply for university in a country system (like the US) that requires a standardized test. There will also be an ACT on April 4th and June 13th, plus an SAT on March 14th and May 2nd.

CAC’s ACT center code is 866070.

Our school code is 648-300.

University Visits

Hult University Visit

Tuesday, January 21st from 4:00-5:00 pm
Next Tuesday afternoon a professor from Hult University will be visiting CAC to give a MasterClass lecture on a current business topic. This is a great opportunity to see what a business class would be like at a university. If you plan to study business at university, then you will not want to miss this session. Please RSVP here! The lecture will take place in Admin 614 (Dr. Pav’s Classroom).

Professor’s Bio

Chris Kinsville-Heyne is a Professor of Leadership & Strategy at Hult International Business School. He founded C3i Strategic Solutions, a Dubai, and now UK-based, management consultancy, specializing in training government departments in Leadership & Team-building, Media Skills, Presentation Skills, Key Message Development, Crisis Communication & Management, Public Speaking Skills and Communication Team development. He has trained and assisted Presidents and Prime Ministers, CEOs, and Board Members globally. Chris has been published internationally and by the Harvard Business Review for his insights into Crisis Communication & Management.

MasterClass Topic

The biggest threat to business operations in 2020? Cyber Security. Data volume online will be 50 times greater in 2020 than it was in 2016 and the world will need to protect 300 billion passwords. With a hack every 39 seconds, this is an annual $6 trillion problem which disrupts business, corrupts data, impacts the revenue stream and turns hardware to junk. Join Hult Professor Chris Kinsville-Heyne to find out what you can do to protect your business – and yourself – against a sophisticated and ever changing threat.

General Announcements

Happy 2020. May you spend it reading!

Welcome back to CAC. We hope you had a relaxing holiday.

It’s that time of the year for making resolutions. How about resolving to read more? One way of keeping yourself accountable is by signing up to Goodreads, a social media platform for readers. Keep track of what you are reading and receive recommendations. I’ve been a member since 2012 and it just keeps getting better and better.

Adjusted Opening Times for the MHS Library

Due to reduced staffing with the retirement of our long time library assistant, Ms. Mervat, the MHS library will now be open from 7:45 to 4 during the week.

The libraries are also open most Saturdays from 10 to 2, except when the Thursday before or the Sunday after it are holidays. This means that the libraries will be closed on January 26 because of the long weekend.

Here is a list of the days when the library is open.
