CAC High School Principal’s Notes

Earlier this week we celebrated the UN International Day of Peace. The High School community came together in the theater yesterday to recognize this important and significant day. There were short speeches from our StuCo President (Erik Koo) and the CACMUN Secretary General (Dana Kamal). In addition, two representatives from the National Art Honors Society displayed a sculpture they had created made up of folded origami cranes made by HS students during homeroom this week. The individual cranes contained messages of hope and were combined into a giant dove sculpture. The theme that came through strongly in the assembly was that of our individual responsibility for acting in a way that helps the community be a more peaceful place and taking small actions everyday that contribute to a more peaceful environment. Attributes such as kindness, compassion, integrity, reflection, respect and open-mindedness were all highlighted by the students—attributes which are closely aligned with CAC’s Core Values and the IB Learner Profile.

Harkness discussion about CAC Core Values

This week there has been more sporting fun at CAC and further afield. Our varsity and junior varsity volleyball and soccer teams have all had matches this week and the JV volleyball teams are currently on their way to Alexandria to compete against Schutz American School. It’s great to see the Eagles in action. Parents are always welcome to come to CAC to watch the sports games when they are taking place. Go Eagles!

Today we gathered on the field to celebrate our seniors, the Class of 2023. A group of Grade 12 parents came together and organized this fun, informal event as a way to recognise our senior class and wish them well on this final academic year of their school careers. Good luck seniors!

Thank you Grade 12 parents for the Senior Celebration
