CAC High School Principal’s Notes

The University Fair

Student Ambassadors ready to help at the University Fair

University Fair

More than 80 universities were represented here at CAC today with reps flying in from all around the world to promote their schools. Our students from Grade 8 to 12 all had an opportunity to visit the fair. Obviously for our older students this was a hugely beneficial chance for them to learn more about programs by engaging with the reps and comparing the differences between the types of universities, programs and world-wide locations.

Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences

We are looking forward to hosting parent-teacher-student conferences next week. Conferences scheduled for October 24 will take place online using WebEx, and on October 25 conferences will be in teachers’ classrooms. For both types of conference, students are encouraged to attend with parents. Please refer to the October 16 email sent by Skyward for more information on accessing the WebEx appointments and for checking your appointment schedule.

Please note that there will be no school for High School students on Tuesday, October 25.

As always, we are experiencing high demand for appointments and we are aware that some parents are having difficulty finding slots with teachers. If a teacher’s schedule is fully booked, kindly email that teacher directly to schedule a conference at another time and date. Also, if you won’t be available on the parent-teacher conference day, but want to visit specific teachers, please contact each teacher directly. Instructions for the signup were sent on October 16.

We will continue to look at ways to schedule the conferences in order to effectively meet the needs of parents. In the meantime, we look forward to welcoming you to campus next week for these important conversations.

WWW Registration is now open!

The time has come for students and parents to indicate their preferences for the High School Week Without Walls (WWW) 2023 electronically through Skyward.

Please take time with your high schooler(s) to read the trip descriptions on the Week Without Walls website and complete the form on Skyward with them (you must log in to your CAC account first). Students and parents should make careful choices based on interest and ability to travel. Every effort will be made to place students in their highest priority WWW selection based on availability. Please remember that most WWW experiences are made up of students from all grade levels, and only a few spaces may be available per each grade level. Once submitted, the form cannot be edited.

Please complete the form by 11:00 PM Cairo time on October Wednesday, October 26. Late submissions will forfeit their place in the random selection process and will be considered last. Other than that exception, assignments will NOT be made on a “first come, first served” basis.

Thank you for your support as we look forward to another great Week Without Walls!

Math Curriculum Review

As part of CAC’s ongoing PK-12 mathematics curriculum review process, we will be sending out a survey to parents on Sunday so that your feedback can be used to inform our work in this area. Students will complete a similar survey during homeroom time next week. Thank you in advance for taking a few minutes to complete the survey.
