CAC High School Principal’s Notes
Last weekend, several of our sports teams traveled to Europe for an international tournament against other schools in the region. Our varsity soccer, volleyball and cross country teams headed to Geneva, Eindhoven and Vienna to take on their competitors. Spirits were high, fierce competitions were fought and our Eagles teams came back feeling proud of their achievements and thoroughly happy with the overall experience. To clinch it all, the CAC Varsity boys volleyball team secured a first place victory in the tournament and brought home gold medals for the team.
We celebrated the successful return of all our teams in a special school spirit assembly last week. The high school community came together to recognise their efforts at the end of a very challenging season. Also at the assembly, we recognised the significant contributions and participation of many students in the school activities program. Students from the Green Team and CACMUN, for example, were recognised for the tremendous work that they have done in recent weeks. Also, members of the cast of this year’s high school production, 12 Angry Jurors, gave us a sneak preview of their show which opens tonight in the CAC theater. (Ticket available on the door, show starts at 6:00 p.m.)
Today we had a group of 50+ art students at the Pyramids of Giza exploring the Forever is Now art exhibition. Heading into this weekend, we are looking forward to the final tournament of the season for our soccer and volleyball teams which will take place here at CAC all day Friday and Saturday. Also in the world of sports, students have been trying out for season two athletics in basketball, dance, wrestling and swimming. Additionally, this weekend we will be joined by some students from El Alsson school for a collaborative robotics event where students will showcase their coding skills to control the robots to complete specific tasks.

As you can see, once again it’s a busy time at CAC with students having the opportunity to immerse themselves in a rich and diverse selection of activities to complement their academic study.
Speaking of academic study, the end of the semester is approaching fast and we are turning our attention to the exams which begin on December 11. As I said in previous weeks’ newsletters, please encourage your student to study effectively at home and make use of the study skills tips and techniques that are in the CAC student planner.
Looking forward to an exciting weekend of CAC activity! I hope to see you on campus sometime soon.

Grade 10
This past week, Grade 10 students met with counselors during their flex to complete a skills assessment on Maia Learning. This was an opportunity for them to begin reflecting on what they are interested in for a career and the postsecondary options associated. With course selection around the corner, this was a great starting point for future discussions!
Grade 12
Upcoming Applications: Students should continue working on applications for the later USA EA & RD submissions, The Netherlands, UC’s, and UCAS. Students should continue to meet with their counselor to go over any motivational letters, CV’s and essays so you can stay on track for the upcoming Internal Deadlines this month.
Students should continue to check application portals on a regular schedule after an application is submitted, to see if there are any additional requirements or SRAR (Self-Reported Academic Record) forms to fill out.
Document Request Forms: Seniors submitting applications must be sure to submit a Document Request Form (DRF) to the counseling office. This form ensures we know exactly what documents are needed to send to each of the different institutions being applied to. Please be aware of looming deadlines such as November 30 for UC Applications.
Application Drop-In Seniors are able to drop in for help with their college applications! A counselor will be in the following locations on these days and times for college application help. Students are encouraged to stop by if they have a question, want feedback on an essay, or want a quiet space to work on their application. (details here)
