It’s a WWWrap…!

I have just finished walking around the Week Without Walls Exhibition of Learning. All I can say is: wow! In touring around the different exhibits, displays, videos, and slideshows, and—most importantly—talking to excited students, the depth and breadth of the Week Without Walls experience resounds so clearly.

The impact these trips have had on the lives of our students is profound. The incredible array of opportunities and experiences our students have been exposed to is truly remarkable. Experiences like this, of course, do not just materialize. It is due to the hard work and dedication of the High School Faculty that we have been able to pull off this truly exceptional set of experiences for our students. On your behalf as parents, I take this opportunity to acknowledge and thank the High School Faculty, supported by an incredible administration team, and led by Miss McCall, for the successful completion of this year’s Week Without Walls trips. I am sure you are happy to have your kids back home if they traveled and you will enjoy the next week as an opportunity to catch up on their stories. If it is not already apparent, it soon will be, that lifelong memories have been made this week.

And to use the old cliche, “a picture paints 1000 words”, please enjoy the selection of WWW photos included in this issue.

Thank you to Booster Club and PTO
I would also like to thank the hard work and dedication of our wonderful parent teacher organization and Booster Club for providing all the hungry teenagers in the building with a wonderful breakfast spread this morning. Delicious food provided by Fresh & Co was available for everybody and judging by the energy and excitement in the air, students were very pleased and impressed with the food on offer. Thank you again, Booster Club and PTO. We truly appreciate your support and partnership.

Parent Coffee overview and promo
We enjoyed hosting our parent coffee on the topic of parenting in the digital age this week. Parents collaborated with us to generate questions and topics for further discussion later in the year. As always, I’m sharing the slides that we used during this presentation. Look out for more opportunities to join us in the High School to learn more about your teenagers and their technology use in the near future.

Take a break – holiday time
Spring Break is upon us and it’s time for families to disconnect from school for a week and enjoy some time together. Please encourage your child to take some time out in order to reflect on the wonderful week of experience they have just had and I hope you enjoy being together again for this week. School resumes on Sunday, the 12th of March and as always, we have a busy schedule ahead of us for Quarter 4.

I wish you all a happy and peaceful holiday.

Joy for Janitors Drive

Dear CAC students and families,

We have received donations from many students/families at this point, but we need more donations to achieve our goal.

As a reminder, here is what we need:

What: sugar, dried fruits, shredded coconut and dates and honey in plastic jars.
What: books in English or Arabic for children ages 4 – 12 (picture books are the best)
OR if you prefer to donate cash, (all 5 items cost about 200 LE, but any amount would be appreciated) look for the cash box in the elementary office.
When: Now until March 21st.
Where: The red donation boxes by the front gate, cash box in the ES office or Third Grade resource room 203 in the ES building (Look for the signs in the third grade hallway).

Thank you so much for what has already been donated! We know we can meet our goal of one Ramadan bag per janitor and at least one book per child, keep the love coming!
