CAC High School Principal’s Notes
The Cast Prepares for the Show
The high school production of “Arabian Nights” was truly fantastic, with its opening night held last night. The High School Theatre Ensemble has worked really hard for the past 10 weeks. The costumes, lighting, and set were all fantastic and effectively helped to tell the tales. The central themes of the importance of storytelling in our lives and the consequences of losing our trust and faith in others were powerful and resonated strongly with the audience. A big congratulations to the cast and crew, and thank you to Siobhan Buckman for her role in guiding the students towards this tremendous finished product. There are still a few tickets available for tonight’s performance at 6:00 PM, with another opportunity tomorrow for a matinee at 2:00 PM. I hope you will be able to join us.
Senior Basketballers – Go Eagles!
In true CAC style, yesterday also featured some significant basketball games on campus. As the season draws to a close, we took the opportunity to celebrate our seniors on the basketball team as they played their last match of the season here at CAC. It was a momentous and emotional occasion for the players, coaches, and community. The upcoming ISAA tournament is now just around the corner.
As we progress through the semester, we are fast approaching the end of quarter three. Soon, you will receive a report card showing your child’s progress, and there will be an opportunity to come to school for parent-teacher conferences in the middle of March. We will be sending home more information about that soon.
The start of March also marks the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan. The school schedule remains the same throughout the month; students who wish to pray during school will be able use spaces dedicated for prayer and reflection. Devotional activities should be completed during breaks, lunch, flex blocks, or after school. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
In the meantime, I wish you a wonderful weekend.

Attendance is optional but highly encouraged based on the topics that pertain to the students. An RSVP and reminders are sent to students for each session, and the full list is in the family handbook and posted around campus.
Juniors were also reminded to set their meeting time with a parent/guardian and counselor for the college planning meeting so they can present their Junior Project. Meetings start this week, and we look forward to working with your families on your junior’s post secondary plans!
Grade 9 & 11 parents: Earlier this week, students were given their course verification sheet for you to confirm the course request and sign off. If there are any questions or changes about the course requests, please write it on the form. Students should have returned the forms to the HS Counseling office by Thursday, Feb 20th.
Grade 9 parents: This week, counselors facilitated a seminar for our 9th-grade students, guiding them through important discussions on relationships, personal boundaries, and the differences between healthy and unhealthy interactions. Counselors provided valuable insights and practical strategies for recognizing and addressing these dynamics while emphasizing the crucial role of standing up for one another (being an upstander). We encourage you to continue these meaningful conversations at home. Together, we can foster a caring environment that empowers our students to navigate these challenges with confidence and compassion. Thank you for your partnership in this essential work!
Grade 10 parents: Please mark your calendars: The PSAT will be administered to all 10th-grade students on Tuesday, March 4th. An email was sent to all parents and students last week with this information. This exam serves as a practice opportunity for students to experience testing under timed conditions. It is a low-stakes exam, and the results will help students identify areas where they can improve for future assessments.

General Announcements
Call for Parent Participants
As shared in the Board’s winter email, we officially launched a new strategic planning cycle in November. Strategic planning is essential not only for aligning the school’s vision with its long-term goals but also for ensuring that resources, curriculum, and community engagement are effectively utilized to provide the best educational experience for students.
We are grateful to the faculty, staff, parents, students and Board members who have already met with our strategic planning consultant, Dr. Alex Wiseman. In order to get more community feedback, we are seeking four parent volunteers to attend the following planning sessions: Academic Excellence, Faculty and Staff Excellence, Financial Excellence, and Facility Excellence. The time commitment is two hours over the course of two weeks. Additional information will be given upon selection. If you are interested in participating, please send an email to our Board secretary, Nawal Gamal, at ngamal@cacegypt.org by Sunday, February 23.
