CAC High School Principal’s Notes
Green Team Dunk Tank
It was a big day for our IB seniors today…their last day of school classes! Beginning in two weeks’ time, these seniors will be taking their final IB and AP examinations, beginning on April 28 and continuing through to May 21. IB exams are taken by the majority of our graduating class each year. Students who have enrolled in the full IB Diploma program will sit exams in six different subjects. Those not enrolled in the full DP will still take somewhere between 1-5 IB exams, depending on the individualized program of study each student has created on their pathway to graduation. Whether a student is taking one or six exams, the pressure and hard work is not to be underestimated as each IB exam represents the culmination of two full years of studying material that is in many cases equivalent in rigor to university courses. In addition to the IB exams, many of our students will also sit AP exams this session. We wish all our seniors taking final external exams this year the very best of luck!
Green Team Dunk Tank
We had a great time at lunchtime today, celebrating the last day of school for our seniors with a special teacher dunk tank, sponsored by the high school Green Team. The money raised will go towards environmental and sustainability projects.
Eco Fair 2025
This week, we also enjoyed the annual Eco Fair on Wednesday. Sustainable vendors from the local area showcased various ways businesses can operate with sustainability in mind. We were particularly fascinated by the high school design classes’ composting, worm habitats and recycling projects.
As the weather warms up, we look forward to several long weekends over the next three weeks. This will give our high school students a chance to balance their rigorous academic demands with some rest and relaxation time. As parents, you can support your children during this period by encouraging a balance between academic study, building an early exam revision schedule, and encouraging time for relaxation and other pursuits. Finding this balance and planning ahead by organizing time carefully is an effective way to maintain a healthy approach to your child’s well-being.
Please reach out to us at the school if you have any concerns about your child during this potentially stressful period. Wishing you a wonderful long weekend ahead and a happy Easter to all who celebrate.
