CAC High School Principal’s Notes

Happy New Year!

Student Magazine Covers – Digital Arts

Happy New Year to all of you in our CAC community! It’s great to see everyone back here in Cairo, and for our campus to be buzzing with student learning and activity once again. We hit the ground running with sports practices and activities in full flow as well as teachers passing back students’ semester exams, providing feedback and cracking on with the learning for semester two.

By the time you read this newsletter, you will have received notification that your child semester one report card is available in Skyward. Please do take some time this weekend to review your child’s grades and have a conversation with them about how their learning is going in school currently. If you should have any concerns or questions, of course, you are welcome to email teachers directly to set up appointments for conversations.

We know there’s a busy semester ahead. Excitement is building around our Week Without Walls trips which are happening at the end of February. Students will be heading off to various exciting locations around the world and here in Egypt, as well as engaging in meaningful, dynamic learning experiences on campus and around Maadi. We have a small group of students heading to the Netherlands to represent CAC at The Hague Model United Nations, an extremely prestigious MUN event which attracts students from all around the world to participate. We look forward to hearing updates from them soon. Students on sports teams will be looking forward to the upcoming CISSA tournaments hosted here on the CAC campus in February. And, of course, varsity teams will travel to Europe in March to represent CAC at the ISAA championships which conclude season two. On Monday, we had a very successful semester two activity fair. Students who are not currently involved in activities have been encouraged to sign up for the many new opportunities which exist in the semester two activities program.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend ahead.

Reminders for your senior students: Upcoming Applications: The next upcoming internal CAC deadline to have all applications ready to submit for deadlines between January 25th, 2023 through Feb. 1st, 2023 is January 16th, 2023.

Grade 11 University Application Kick Off for juniors and parents

February 7th – save the date!

Grade 11 Programing

Prior to the university application kick off evening, the counselors will meet all grade 11 students to review PSAT scores and prepare for the February 7th university presentation.

Grade 10 Programing

In late January the counselors will meet with all grade 10 students to review PSAT scores and prepare for course selections.
