CAC High School Principal’s Notes

Grade 11 and 12 Celebrate the IB at CAC

Celebrating 30 years of the IB DP at CAC

Class of 2023 Baby Photo Countdown!

Well, the countdown has begun! The tradition of posting the graduating class baby pictures signals the final countdown for this year‘s graduation. It is a time of mixed emotions for the Class of 2023, and I take this early opportunity to wish them well in the final quarter in the run-up to their graduation at the pyramids.

We are very proud and excited to see the opening of the IB and AP art exhibition next week. On Monday after school, the community is invited to join us for the opening ceremony, and to spend some time wandering around in our impressive third-floor gallery to see the student work. The creative flair and individual talents of our students are well and truly on display, and I’m sure you will enjoy seeing them hung in this fabulous space that we are lucky to have in the high school building.

Preparing for the IB and AP Art Exhibition

It was wonderful to celebrate the successes of our NHS students this week with the induction of 30 new members to the National honour Society. The academic standards, character and attributes required for successful admission into the NHS are extremely stringent, and it is a testament to the quality of our student population how many students were both eligible, and then selected. While we know it is disappointing to not make the final selection, it is good for all of our students to have goals and aims to strive towards in the final few years of high school.

We were deeply shocked and saddened by the unfortunate news that last week one of our students had suffered an attack here in Maadi. I’m glad to be able to report that the student is recovering well at home and all of the perpetrators of this have been apprehended and are now in custody. As I mentioned in my email earlier this week, we will be holding a personal safety briefing for HS students at some point soon. I will be in touch about this when we have more details. In the meantime and on behalf of the entire community, I am sending the student and his family well wishes on your behalf.

Today marks the start of the holy month of Ramadan, and I would like to take this opportunity to wish our community Ramadan Kareem! This is a special time of year and one where a focus on community, family and reflection are important. I hope this time of year brings you comfort and a sense of peace that you may enjoy with others.
