CAC High School Principal’s Notes
Ramadan Kareem!
As the crescent moon appears this weekend, we at CAC extend our warmest wishes to all our students, families, and staff observing the holy month of Ramadan. At this time of reflection, prayer, and community, we hope the month brings you peace, joy, and blessings. We encourage everyone in our community to embrace the spirit of Ramadan and to support one another during this special time.
We understand some students and staff will be fasting, and we will be mindful of this during the school day. We are working to create a supportive and inclusive environment for all. While the school schedule remains the same throughout the month, students who wish to pray during school will be able use spaces dedicated for prayer and reflection. Devotional activities should be completed during breaks, lunch, flex blocks, or after school. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Parent Coffee
Thank you to everyone who joined for yesterday’s “Parenting Digital Natives” coffee morning in the high school. It was an engaging and insightful session. The discussions were lively and informative, and we hope you gained valuable insights and practical tips for navigating the digital world with your children. Open communication and collaboration between parents and the school are essential for our students’ success, especially in today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape. Your participation yesterday reinforced that belief. For those who were unable to make it, you may access the slides used here. The next coffee morning will be on April 9.
High School Students Bring Joy to Awladi Orphanage!
We are incredibly proud of our 12 high school students for their dedication and kindness in organizing a memorable Fun Day for the children at Awladi Orphanage! Taking the initiative from start to finish, our students planned an exciting day filled with cooking, sports, group games, and finger painting. They worked hard to prepare all the supplies and ensured that every activity brought smiles and laughter to the children. Their efforts paid off, as the kids at the orphanage had an unforgettable experience, filled with joy and happiness. This act of generosity and compassion is truly inspiring, and we couldn’t be more proud of our students for making a difference in the lives of others. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this event so special! (Ms Ereeny)

This week during flex, counselors met with Grade 11 students to help them continue to explore their university search process. A key focus was on understanding their testing timelines and creating a profile on Mētō, a platform that reverses the university search process by helping students connect with institutions that align with their strengths and goals. They also spent time adding to their Junior Project document.
Juniors were invited to their student lunch session this past Tuesday as well to cover researching Canadian universities. The series of Tuesday sessions will continue for juniors throughout the spring. Attendance is optional but highly encouraged based on the topics that pertain to the students. An RSVP and reminders are sent to students for each session, and the full list is in the family handbook and posted around the high school.
Juniors were also reminded to set their meeting time with a parent/guardian and counselor for the college planning meeting so they can present their Junior Project. We asked them to get the meeting set on the calendar this week for the meeting to occur by April 23rd. We look forward to working with your families on your junior’s post secondary plans!
Grade 10 parents: The PSAT will be administered to all 10th-grade students on Tuesday, March 4th during the school day in the morning. We have reminded students to be sure the Blue Book application from The College Board is loaded onto the laptop they intend to use for the PSAT. That laptop must be fully charged for the test day.
