CAC High School Principal’s Notes

IB Visual Art Exhibition

It has been a wonderfully artistic week at CAC! On Monday, we enjoyed the opening of our annual IB Visual Art Exhibition, which is always a fantastic event showcasing student creativity at the end of their rigorous two-year art course. The opening was accompanied by the CAC Strings Ensemble, who performed a selection of pieces to set the tone for the event.

IB Theatre Solo Performances

Additionally, on Monday and Wednesday, our higher-level IB Theatre students performed their solo theatre pieces. These performances represent the culmination of two years of intense study of theatre theory and practice, resulting in thought-provoking and truly impressive performances.

Stay tuned for some upcoming music performances to round out the year in the arts. As always, we love to celebrate the arts and showcase our students’ incredible creativity. A big thank you to all our arts teachers for facilitating these events.

TOK Exhibition

We enjoyed the Grade 11 IB Theory of Knowledge (TOK) Exhibition this week. Our Year One IB students invited parents and community members to campus to view their exhibitions, where they have been exploring knowledge questions in an in-depth and rigorous manner. The presentations were thought-provoking and demonstrated how our students are engaging with important critical thinking through the TOK course.

This week, we also had a group of parents join us for a coffee morning to discuss the important topic of student well-being. The end of the school year, with examinations and final assessments, as well as upcoming transitions and change, can be a high-pressure and somewhat stressful experience for high school students. The coffee morning focused on ways we work to minimize this stress at school and strategies parents can use to help ensure their children remain happy and healthy through the end of the school year. You can view the slides and information shared at the meeting here:
