CAC High School Principal’s Notes

Mr Buckman and Mr Smee show appreciation for the HS teachers

Happy Halloween!

Yesterday and today, it was wonderful to see so many parents on campus engaging in productive, learning-focused conversations with teachers. It was also great to see so many students accompanying their parents for these discussions. I always enjoy conference days as they provide an opportunity for me to meet and connect with many members of our parent community. We deeply appreciate the support you provide and value your partnership in your children’s learning journey. Now, we look ahead to the rest of the quarter and our journey toward the end of the semester in December.

This weekend, Cairo American College is proud to host our annual Model United Nations (MUN) conference, welcoming more than 440 participants from across the region. The event brings together 374 delegates (including more than 100 from CAC), 30 chairs, 6 secretariat members, 20 media representatives, and 20 eighth-grade administrative volunteers—a true community effort that showcases student leadership and collaboration in action. We are delighted to host students from nine international schools in Cairo, one from Alexandria, and our international guests from the American School of Kuwait. Together, they will engage in thoughtful debate and diplomacy on some of the world’s most pressing global issues.

Through MUN, students develop critical thinking, public speaking, negotiation, leadership, and collaboration skills. More importantly, they learn to see the world through multiple perspectives—an essential part of our school’s mission of building character to thrive as global citizens. A heartfelt thank you to the dedicated teachers—Mr Godfrey, Mr Cowles and Ms Kremer who have guided and supported our student delegates and organizing team in making this event possible.
