Middle School Principal’s Letter
Dear parents,
Thank you for reading this week’s edition of the News and Views. We want to extend Happy New Year’s wishes to all our students and families. We trust that everyone had an enjoyable holiday and used the time to rest, relax, recharge, and reconnect with family and friends. It was great to have all the students and faculty back on campus this week.
The middle school has quickly returned to the teaching and learning process as well as after school activities, and everyone seems happy to be connecting with friends and teachers after the winter break. We want to welcome our new parents and students to the CAC community. Please keep in mind that change can be hard on children, and although they may come in excited about the new school community. The honeymoon phase will wear off after a few months, and then everything will be challenging about the place. We need you to be a voice of reason for your child during this time. Let the counselor know as well if your child is struggling; we are here to support them.
We will be issuing Semester one report cards on Thursday at 3:05 pm. As in the past, we will issue the reports electronically. We will be sending out a separate email with login, password information, and an explanation about how you can check your child’s Report card on Skyward. The teacher will report out on ATLs, Standard Based Grading, and provide a comment for each student.
Next week, I will have my Principal Coffee on Wednesday, January 22nd. I hope to see many of you there because our focus will be on “Digital Addiction.” We have a guest speaker who will be coming in. The session will begin at 8:00 am in room 115. We plan on presenting the same course to students at a later date, which will make the conversation with your child more engaging and meaningful.
The new date for “The World Needs A Father” presentation is Saturday, February 8th. The event will be organized in the following manner.
Time | Event Mission |
9: 00 – 11: 00 am | Father-and-child bonding |
11:10 – 12:10 pm | Parenting tips – Mother and Father |
12:10 – 3:00 pm | Principal and Father Forum |
If you are interested in attending please sign-up in TWNF Sign-up sheet. All participants will be asked to contribute 100 LE to cover the cost of the snacks for the day. There will be organized activities for the child between 11:10 -12:10. Following the Parenting tips session, the child and mother can leave.
In the coming weeks, we will host our annual Middle School Talent Show, on February 6th. This is an event you don’t want to miss.
Again, welcome back to CAC, and we wish you all the very best, and hope that 2020 will be a year filled with learning adventures and personal growth!
In Partnership,
Courtney Bailey
Middle School Principal

From the MS/HS Library
Happy 2020. May you spend it reading!
Welcome back to CAC. We hope you had a relaxing holiday.
It’s that time of the year for making resolutions. How about resolving to read more? One way of keeping yourself accountable is by signing up to Goodreads, a social media platform for readers. Keep track of what you are reading and receive recommendations. I’ve been a member since 2012 and it just keeps getting better and better.
Adjusted opening times for the MHS library
Due to reduced staffing with the retirement of our long time library assistant, Ms. Mervat , the MHS library will now be open from 7:45 to 4 during the week.
The libraries are also open most Saturdays from 10 to 2, except when the Thursday before or the Sunday after it are holidays. This means that the libraries will be closed on January 26 because of the long weekend.
Here is a list of the days when the library is open.
