Middle School Principal’s Letter
Dear Parents.
Thank you for taking the time to read this week’s version of the News and Views. This week was teacher’s appreciation week and we celebrated our teachers with this video by our students. We have made it successfully through week seven of e-learning. It has been a learning curve for all of us. There is much to take away from this experience not only for teachers but for students and parents as well.
Tuesday is designated as a “Get It Done” workday for teachers and students no new task will be assigned in an effort to support students who are behind in their work. The teachers will keep regular class time hours and be available for any questions students might have or support needed.
However, for students with no work to get done. They could request extension work from their teachers or engage in their own learning with something of interest to them. It is the perfect time to read, bake, make lunch, or dinner for the family. We hope that their creativity will guide them.
On Tuesday, May 12th we will have our Student-Led Conference. Teachers and students have been preparing for this day. Here is a Grade 8 Reflection – Parent Introduction 2020 and Grade 6 & 7 Parent Introduction 2020. All the information is in the documents to support you during the SLC conference with your child. Please if you could, take a photo of you and your child in the conference and send it to Ms. Fahmy (mfahmy@cacegypt.org).
The longer we remain in e-learning the more we need to support our student’s social and emotional well-being. We are having SSR time for students to connect with teachers and classmates. We know how contagious emotions are, therefore, now more than ever, we need to make a purposeful, conscious daily effort to maintain our students health and wellbeing.
Having structured events such as the World Scholars Cup, and Student-Led Conferences next Tuesday give the students an opportunity to be heard, to feel valued, and loved by parents. I can’t express how important this activity is for parents and students to bond around e-learning.
I am looking forward to welcoming you to another Principal Coffee Morning next Wednesday morning at 8:00 am. A link will be shared with parents at 7:30 am Cairo time.
Thank you for your continuous support of the middle school.
In Partnership,
Courtney Bailey
Middle School Principal

Booster Club’s Teacher Appreciation Video
The Booster Club would like to ask you to help us celebrate our AMAZING CAC teachers. During these strange and challenging times, the Booster Club would like to make our teachers feel special by making a video compilation of their students telling them how much we miss and appreciate them. Please make a small video (no longer than 10 seconds) or a still photo of students (and parents) wearing CAC Spirit Wear and holding a sign thanking any or all teachers. You can also type a digital message on your video/photo if you’d prefer.
Please send your videos/ photos to the Booster Club at: boosterclub@cacegypt.org and we will then make them into an awesome video. We will send the video out soon to make all of our amazing teachers feel great. You have until Thursday May 7th to send your video/photo. Hope to see your video/photo in our inbox!!
