Middle School Principal’s Letter
Dear Parents,
Thank you for taking the time to read this week’s version of the News and Views. We have completed week thirteen, and I have to say we couldn’t have done it without your support and us working together in partnership.
As I mentioned during the Principal Coffee Morning on Wednesday. We are now in Phase 2 of the re-entry rubric. On Sunday, November 22nd, we will be bringing back all sixth-graders to campus five days a week. We have chosen this grade level because they are transitioning in from fifth-grade to middle school. Students have seen their teachers face no more than thirteen times, posing more challenges for forming relationships with their teachers. During these formative years, helping them build their executive functioning skills is a top priority for the teachers.
We have posted Semester one Progress Report – 2 on Skyward. We hope that this brief snapshot of learning will provide students and parents with valuable information about their progress towards academic learning goals. We will also be issuing progress reports electronically using Skyward. Parents will be asked to log-on to Skyward to check their child’s progress. If you have not received a message with the login instructions, please send an email to felduweini@cacegypt.org.
As is the case of all progress reports, teachers will report only on each subject’s Standard and Approaches to Learning, in-class and online. In some cases, but not all, students will receive a Narrative Comment from their teacher. These comments are not required from teachers for progress reports unless they have a Rarely or Not Meeting Standards. Please find the time to talk to your child. We ask you to focus your attention on the approaches to learning. We report on these separately and see that students who perform well on their Approaches to Learning generally also do well in the areas of Academic Achievement.
A reminder that next week Wednesday will be an ERD day, and therefore, students will be dismissed at 11:30. There will be no school on Thursday due to the Thanksgiving holiday.
Thanks for all you do to support the middle school.
In Partnership,
Courtney Bailey
Middle School Principal

MS Student Council is sponsoring a clothing drive to donate to – The Egyptian Clothing Bank, MOVE Egypt, and Awladi Orphanage.
Let’s show our thanks by giving. As the weather gets colder and we start organizing our winter and summer clothes, it’s a good time to sift through your small and unused clothing items. We are collecting gently used clothing items and blankets to donate to those in need of all ages, infant to adult size (includes: T-shirts, sweaters, socks, pants, jackets, etc).
Click these links to know more about the organizations; The Egyptian Clothing Bank, MOVE Foundation and Awlady Orphanage
The drive is running from Sunday, November 15 to, Sunday, November 29. ( Bring your Clothing donations to the red donation box in the front gate are. (the box will be renovated after this drive). The delivery will be on the week of Nov.29
Middle school students should bring their items to their advisory classroom to be counted and stored. The advisory that collects the most clothing items will win a lunch of their choice.
Remember: all items must be clean and in good condition. Please do not bring torn or worn out items. Students, please make sure you have your parents’ permission to donate the clothing items.
In honor of our 75th anniversary, our goal is to reach 75 kilos of clothing/blankets to donate. Help us reach that goal!
