Middle School Principal’s Letter
Dear Parents,
Thank you for taking the time to read this week’s version on the News and Views. It was a week of blended learning, and although it isn’t ideal, it was nice having the students back on campus.
We are looking forward to having the remaining 40 eighth-grade students on campus as of Sunday, January 24th. All 7th-grade students will remain in a blended learning program.
The Semester one report cards are posted today. We hope that you will find the information about your child, both useful and informative. When you view the reports, we encourage you to talk with your child about their Approaches to Learning (ATL’s). While we report separately on these, we see a direct correlation between learning traits and academic success.
We had three students (Mary Millwood, Hoda Abou Ghali, and Tia Fikry) who applied for the NESA Stanley Haas/Luke Hansen Student Award. The award honors students throughout the region who exhibit consistency, persistence, a willingness to take risks, acceptance of other points of view, and a genuine interest in and commitment to others’ welfare.
Congratulations to Tia Fikry, who was selected as the winner of the award she received ($1000 to be spent in any manner to help others). We are proud of all three students for exhibiting our core value of courage by applying for the award.
Thanks to all the parents who attended the Principal Coffee morning. It was good to hear your thoughts about the development of your child. We must keep in mind that they are making up for the lost time. That is the mindset they have going forward. We have to keep reminding them that their health and safety is our primary concern.
Thank you for your continuous support of the middle school.
In Partnership,
Courtney Bailey
Middle School Principal

The CAC Core Values are: Compassion, Creativity, Courage, Integrity, Perseverance, Respect, and Responsibility. If you know of someone who has made a difference in the lives of our CAC Community while exhibiting these core values, please nominate her/him for the Core Values Award. Last year’s recipients of the Board of Trustees Community/Core Values Award were: Carmen Allison, Courtney Bailey, and Nadia Rashad.
All members of the community – not currently on the Board of Trustees – are eligible to be considered for this award including faculty and staff so long as they make contributions to the community that are above and beyond their regular, expected duties.
