Middle School Principal’s Letter
Dear Parents,
Thank you for taking the time to read this week’s version of the News and Views. It was another busy week of teaching and learning. Teachers and students continue to practice the mitigation protocols daily.
The week started with the Valentine’s Day celebration on campus. Ms. Genidy and the Public Art class did a fantastic job decorating the campus.
Congratulations to Feranmi Adelakin, Sunghyun Han, Kodjiro Sakaedani, Pranay Lanka, Vladimir Shein, Taeheon Kim, Jaeyoon Park, Jongyoon Kim, Nayun Kim for their participation in the MathCounts 2021 Chapter Competition earlier this month. Due to the pandemic, the competition occurred online and students participated in 2 rounds of the competition: sprint round which focused on speed and accuracy, and the target round which focused on problem-solving and mathematical reasoning. Unfortunately, there was no team round and our mathletes were unable to demonstrate their strong ability to collaborate and cooperate to solve challenging math problems. Congratulations to Feranmi, CAC’s top scorer, who has qualified for the Chapter Invitational Competition later this month.
We had a Well-being day today organized by our Student Wellbeing Committee, Ms. Spencer and Ms. Morris. The program for the day was an idea for-the-students by-the-students. It is another opportunity for them to show what they can do when given the opportunity to lead.
On Thursday, February 25th, at 3:00 pm. We will post the Semester Two – 1st, Progress Reports. Teachers will be reporting out on the ATLs. If the student is receiving a Rarely for their ATLs, they will receive a comment along with it to support understanding of the grade. Please take a moment to discuss this with your child. The discussion could be around what they need to continue doing, or what they need to improve upon to get the results they are capable of.
Thank you for your continuous support of the middle school.
In Partnership,
Courtney Bailey
Middle School Principal

Middle School Pre-Ordered Lunch
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are happy to inform you that your son/daughter can now pre-order special items from our MS Vendors, Sincerely V, Fino’s and Zentro, using the Spare App. CAC, in partnership with Spare Payments, provides a cashless system for these items. First introduced on campus in November 2020, Spare will eventually be used at all on-campus vendors to replace cash transactions.
The Spare system uses smart technology connected to a mobile application on which you will be able to recharge your son/daughter’s balance (set budget) and set a limit for their spending. Accounts may be recharged via credit card in-app or with cash on campus, at CSA Maadi and at Power Plant Store. Students use their IDs to purchase items on campus, or parents may purchase items for them using the Spare app.
The menu of pre-order items from Sincerely V, Fino’s and Zentro will be available in the Spare app starting February 18 at 3:00 PM. To view the menu, click on “Online Store”. Pre-purchase will be available 3 pm – 9 pm the day before pick up.
You will be receiving an email with more details to get you started.
