Middle School Principal’s Letter

Dear Parents,

Thank you for taking the time to read this week’s version of the News and Views. Everyone came back to campus this week looking rested and recharged. We trust that you had a good break.

We are in the stretched run to June, and the workload will increase and become more challenging. The students will need your support at home to ensure they are getting sufficient sleep and maintaining a balanced diet. Please encourage your children to seek help if they need it.

Students in design technology were busy this week testing out their engineering skills.

I want to thank all the parents who attend the Coffee morning. With Ramadan starting next week, we are mindful that some students will be fasting. Therefore, we will have a session to inform everyone what the expectations will be. Students who are fasting will have a reserved area for them to relax in during lunch.

Our semester progress reports two will be posted on April 22nd. This report will include academic grades and ATLs. Students with N’s and R’s will receive a comment. Please take the time to go over the ATLs and grades with your child.

We would like to see many of you at the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion seminar taking place on Saturday, April 10th, at 5:00 pm. CAC Talks organized it for the community. You don’t want to miss it. There is more information available as you scroll down in the news and views.

We wanted to share these pictures with parents whose children will be in high school in the fall. There is progress being made on the building, and it is coming together.

Thank you for your continuous support of the middle school.

In Partnership,

Courtney Bailey
Middle School Principal

From the MS/HS Library

CAC Libraries Saturdays in April
The libraries will be open on April 10, 17 and 24. Here is a document with all the open Saturdays for the year.

Please note that all library materials must be returned by May 26 in order to be able to start summer checkout on June 3.

Sora is open 24/7
Our ebook and digital audiobook library is open 24/7 to our CAC parents, students, faculty and staff. Download the Sora app, find our school by typing “Cairo American College” and use your CAC single sign on to log in. Books are checked out for 2 weeks and automatically returned so you never have to worry about overdues.

Ms. Gramolini’s grade 11 English class will be starting a unit called “Mental Illness and Literature,” and the first collection you will see on the Explore tab if you are signed in as an MS or HS student or a parent will be “Mental Illness.” You may be interested in one of those titles, but please do not check out for another two weeks, as Ms. Gramolini’s class will need those.

Tutorial for accessing Sora is here. When you are asked for your Follett account, use the CAC single sign on.

If you have trouble with your CAC single sign when logging into Sora, please contact Ms. Amira Youssef, ayoussef@cacegypt.org.

Three Cheers

Three Cheers to Mr. Bably and Ms. Genidy for organizing the Ramadan decorations.

Three Cheers to Ms. Nibal and our janitors for all the hard work they do to keep the campus clean.

Three Cheers to Mr. Moataz and the guards for their efforts to keep the campus safe.

Three Cheers to all our teachers for being resilient during these challenging times.
