Middle School Principal’s Letter
Dear Parents,
Thank you for taking the time to read this week’s version of the News and Views. It was a busy week of teaching and learning.
We posted the semester two progress report cards today. By definition, the progress report is a snapshot in time of your child’s learning. The purpose of sharing this information two purposes: First, from a student perspective, we want to share how they are progressing with their approaches to learning, provide a context for self-reflection and goal setting, and provide evidence of their learning habits, as well as their impact on academic achievement. In each of their subjects, students are given feedback on their learning habits, which have a direct effect on their academic progress.
From a parent’s perspective, we also aim to communicate information on how your child is progressing so that you can support them to the next level of understanding. We strive to understand your child’s needs and performance in relation to our curricular programs.
To help us accomplish our goals, we’ve structured a report that will share where your child
is currently with their approaches to learning. Teachers will write a comment only for students with a “Rarely” mark and those new to the school.
Next week we will have Spirit Week, and it is a time of year that our students look forward to and are excited about. We encourage them to have fun with the events and activities.
We have spoken to students about the course selection process and timeline. A significant number of logistics and work has to be moved. Ask your child if they have completed the registration. If the students do not select their electives, they will be randomly placed in one and cannot be changed after the deadline.
We hope to communicate the pricing and schedules for the upcoming PRIME Trips at the end of March. Once the vendors provide the final numbers, payments will be due after Spring Break. The expectation is that all students will attend.
Thank you for your continuous support of the middle school.
In Partnership,
Courtney Bailey

An Inspirational Alumni Story – Emmanuel Ghali ’02
“We couldn’t be more proud of our inspirational alumnus Emmanuel Ghali ’02 (AKA: “Mano”). Eighteen years ago, Mano was in a tragic accident that left him fully paralyzed from the neck down. Doctors told him that he wouldn’t be able to do anything in life. Yet, we have seen him become an example of perseverance, courage, and resilience; earning even three post graduate degrees from prestigious universities around the world, working as an international translator, currently earning certification to become a counselor, and many other amazing achievements. In light of February Valentine’s month, Mano was recently featured in a TV interview as a “role model of perseverance & love of life” in which he truly showed everyone wisdom, love, and being up to challenges no matter how difficult.
Mano- “I am so proud to be part of the CAC Community. CAC has had such a positive impact on who I am today”.
