Middle School Principal’s Letter

Dear Parents,

Thank you for taking the time to read this week’s version of the News and Views. It was a busy week of learning, exploring and having fun. A belated Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing mothers out there!

During Spirit Week the energy was high all week long. On Monday we had a wellbeing day which provided our students an opportunity to participate in Aikido, Judo, Capoeira, Hip-Hop dance, Tai Chi, Self-defense survival First Aid, Wellness Nutrition and Drum Circle. The feedback from students was great.

During Spirit Week the students had an opportunity to be creative on the ‘no bag’ day. Here are a few photos:

Once again thank you to STUCO for their organization under the guidance of Ms. Torky, Ms. Urbiztondo and Ms. Spencer. The themes were well thought out and the House Events were well organized.

Ruopu Wang, Sophie Senna, Jungwoo Park, Amanda Levin, Kieran Ossmann, Tanmay Srivastava, and Luke McDaniel represented CAC at Egypt’s First Lego League Championship competition in Alexandria this past weekend. The students presented how they used the Engineering Design Process to create an innovative solution to the supply chain crisis that involved using magnetic levitation to ship cargo containers. The students programmed a robot to complete multiple missions and presented their use of the design process while building and coding their robot. Most importantly, they showed core values throughout the entire competition process and while being judged on their completion of various team-building tasks. We are incredibly proud of CAC’s first team that competed in First Lego League Team – The Screaming E-bots!

Thank you for your continuous support of the middle school.

In Partnership,
Courtney Bailey
The Middle School Principal
