Middle School Principal’s Letter
Dear Parents,
Thank you for reading this week’s version of the News and Views. It was an eventful and solid week filled with teaching and learning with few interruptions.
Our students are excited about the results they are scoring on their MAP tests. We look forward to the final results to celebrate our students and to help them pinpoint the areas where they need to grow.
The Student Council spent the morning at a retreat working collaboratively to set their goals for the year. It was a decisive moment for the group as they did team-building activities and other activities to learn about each other’s strengths. It was an excellent experience for everyone involved. The students are ready to fulfill their responsibilities in the office to make it a memorable school year.
Grade 6 Parent Tea: On Sunday, September 11th, Grade 6 parents were invited to a well-attended “Afternoon Tea” hosted by the Grade 6 teachers. The session was packed with valuable strategies, recommendations, and resources on topics such as the school-to-home transition, organization, study skills, habits, and routines, as well as issues related to the social and emotional well-being of the students. Here is a link to the presentation slides for parents who missed the meeting or would like to explore the presented resources.
In 6th-grade Language Arts, students had the opportunity to activate prior knowledge and develop strategies to help them become better readers.
The PRIME Trips planning is completed. If your child is not traveling, we invite you to attend the Cairo-Based Trip presentation on Tuesday, Sept 20, 4:30 – 5:00 pm in room 115. We look forward to seeing you there.
The 8th grade will have their tea on Monday, September 19th, from 3:30 – 4:30 pm in room 115. It will be an excellent opportunity to meet teachers face-to-face and hear more about what to expect from the different teachers and subjects.
On Wednesday, September 21st, we invite you to attend the PEACE Day celebrations in the theater at 7:55 am. We would like you to join us for the Principal Coffee Morning immediately after in room 115. The topic for the session will be Digital citizenship.
Thank you for your continuous support of the middle school.
In Partnership,
Courtney Bailey
The Middle School Principal
