Middle School Principal’s Letter

Dear Parents,

Thank you for reading this week’s version of the News and Views. It was another fantastic week in middle school.

On Tuesday, in advisory, students made Peace doves and put them on the MS lawn. On Wednesday, we started the day with the Peace Day assembly organized by Mr. McCuaig, Ms. Shalaby, and Mr. Dzamashvili. I would like to thank them for their efforts in preparing an enjoyable celebration of Peace.

I would also like to thank all the parents who attended the Peace Day Assembly, followed by the Principal Coffee morning on Digital Citizenship, and ended with the 7th Grade Tea. It was an eventful morning, and we hope you had some takeaways to share with your child.

We have watched as technology inevitably found a way into all works of our life, from fintech to autonomous vehicles. The pace of technology integration has quadrupled during the pandemic, and it is here to stay. I would like you to think about this for a moment.

In 1968, IFTF’s founders wrote:

“We live in a period of rapid and vast change. As change quickens in tempo and widens in sweep, the risks and opportunities that confront us call increasingly for expanded efforts to lead the course of events rather than be led by them. An awareness of the future has thus become more important to the present than ever.”

Future-ready organizations do more than anticipate change; they combine foresight and imagination to find opportunities where none existed before. Their focus is on how to leverage this moment to transform their organization for the better. At CAC, we want to inspire our students to learn, explore and have fun with what the future holds.

8th Grade Parent Tea: On Monday, September 19th, Grade 8 parents were invited to a well-attended “Afternoon Tea” hosted by the Grade 8 teachers. The session was packed with valuable strategies, recommendations, and resources on topics such as the school-to-home transition, organization, study skills, habits, and routines, as well as issues related to the social and emotional well-being of the students. Here is a link to the 8th Grade Presentation for parents who missed the meeting or would like to explore the presented resources.

Thank you for your continuous support of Middle School.

In Partnership,
Courtney Bailey
The Middle School Principal
