Middle School Principal’s Letter

Dear Parents,

Thank you for taking the time to read this week’s version of the news and views. I had the pleasure of noticing the new friendship that developed between students after spending a tech-free week away.

Thank you for supporting the PRIME Trips and the Cairo Based Trips, where new relationships formed and old ones strengthen between peers and teachers. The trips are integral to who we are as a middle school. There is tremendous growth that comes from participating in the trips. The learning on these trips is two-fold: students learn about themselves as individuals and how they can survive without their parents; as well as learning to appreciate social interaction without an electronic device. As a result, they have no choice but to practice their communication and social skills. We look forward to sharing all the photos with you soon.

Next week we will have the parent-teacher conferences on Monday, October 24th. The pre-booked conferences will be held virtually from 3:30 pm – 5:30 pm (10-min-time slots). Parents who signed up for the virtual conference will receive an email on Sunday with a link to access the conference.

On Tuesday, October 25th, we will have an Arena Style conference in the MS building from 8:00 am – 3:45 pm (5-min-time slots). The conferences will take place in the classrooms. Please check the teachers’ locations HERE.

There will be chairs in front or beside each classroom for the parents to wait for their turn.

We also stagger the schedule by family’s last name to avoid overcrowding and excessive wait time. The program is below:

8:00 – 9:50 Student’s last name A – K
9:50 – 10:00 Break for all teachers
10:00 – 11:50 Student’s last name L – Z
11:50 – 12:20 Lunch break for all teachers
12:20 – 1:50 Student’s last name A – K
1:50 – 2:00 Break for all teachers
2:00 – 3:45 Student’s last name L – Z

Note: There will be no school for MS students on Tuesday, October 25th; however, we expect students to attend the conferences with their parents.

Next Thursday, we will have the Halloween Social in the middle school from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. This is always a fun social event, and students look forward to participating in an evening of good fun.

Thank you for your continuous support of the middle school.

In Partnership,
Courtney Bailey
The Middle School Principal
