Middle School Principal’s Letter

Dear Parents,

Thank you for taking the time to read this week’s version of the News and Views. I want to take this time to wish everyone a restful and safe Spring Break. This break is timely; we will all benefit from it and return rested and recharged.

We had Spirit Week, organized by STUCO, Ms. Torky, Ms. Spencer, and Ms. Fides. This event brings students and teachers together, engaging enthusiastically in a fun and challenging way.

The students were inspired and motivated to participate in the activities. The number of students participating was at an all-time high. The food drive for the GSS staff was a success. Although the winner of the food drive challenge was grade six, the real winners were the general services staff members receiving the gifts and ALL the students participating in a community-driven action. We hope the more significant impact (reward) is a lifelong learning to give back to your community.

Congratulations to all the students who participated in the Track and Field afternoon. The event allowed students to display our core values of courage and perseverance. Kudos to Ms. Deakin for organizing the event, and a huge thank you to all the teachers, coaches, and parent volunteers.

I would like to extend a thank you to the parents who attended the coffee morning. Our partnership is crucial, and this was a great check-in point for what students will encounter during the last two and a half months. Remind them they are not their thoughts. They are capable of doing more than they can imagine.

Thank you for your continuous support of the middle school.

In Partnership,
Courtney Bailey
The Middle School Principal

Room 115 and we hope to see you there.

Breakfast, donuts and juice will be provided.
