Middle School Principal’s Letter

Dear Parents,

Thank you for taking the time to read this week’s News and Views. It was another solid week of teaching and learning at our school, and I am excited to share the highlights with you.

Talent Show Congratulations
I want to extend my congratulations to all the Talent Show participants for displaying courage and enthusiasm on stage. The level of talent was truly impressive. A special thank you goes to our judges and the teachers who performed. Kudos to Ms. Torky, Ms. Fides, and Ms. Shalaby for organizing this wonderful event. Your efforts ensured its success and created lasting memories for everyone involved.

Mesopotamia Museum Presentation
Thank you to all the sixth-grade parents who attended the Mesopotamia Museum presentation. The students worked hard to research their topics and create artifacts to showcase their learning. We were thoroughly impressed by the high-quality work and the depth of knowledge the students demonstrated. They should be very proud of their accomplishments! (Photos)

Parent Coffee Morning
I also want to thank the parents who joined us for the Parent Coffee morning. The conversation was rich and thought-provoking, especially around the topic of technology use both at school and at home. We all want to ensure students have the right balance and remain socially connected. We did not have time to address the aspect of social isolation in full, but here is the link to the presentation for your reference.

Course Selection & 2024–2025 Schedule
We have begun the course selection process and the creation of next year’s schedule. This can be quite complex, so please remind your child to complete the elective sign-up form. Having their selections early ensures we can build a schedule that meets as many of our students’ preferences as possible.

Upcoming Events

  • Valentine’s Day Cookie and Sig-O-gram Sale: Starting Sunday
  • Valentine’s Day Social: Thursday evening
  • Career Day (February 20th): You should have received an email inviting you to participate. If you are interested, please respond to Ms. Spencer at bspencer@cacegypt.org.

We are proud of all the students who received 5Es in the first semester, as well as those who demonstrated consistent excellence in their Approaches to Learning (ATL) across all subjects. Although the numbers were lower than expected, we believe this will motivate students to strive for even greater success in Semester Two.

Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership in your child’s education. Please keep an eye on your inbox for further updates and details about these and other upcoming events.

In Partnership,
Courtney Bailey
The Middle School Principal
