Middle School Principal’s Letter

Dear Parents,

Thank you for taking the time to read this week’s version of the News and Views.

This week, we were pleased to welcome accreditators’ from CIS and MSA to visit our campus. They had the opportunity to observe classes and speak with members of our community, including parents, students, and teachers. These conversations offered a meaningful glimpse into the heart of our school. I’d like to sincerely thank the parents, teachers and students who took the time to meet with them.

On Monday evening, students from all three divisions showcased their incredible talent during our first-ever Piano Recital. It was a special evening for lovers of classical music, and those in attendance were treated to outstanding performances. A heartfelt thank you to Ms. Dolly and Ms. Torky for their vision and dedication in making this event a reality.

This week, we will be administering Spring MAP testing from May 4th through May 8th. The testing schedule is as follows:

  • Sunday: Language Usage
  • Monday: Math
  • Wednesday: Reading

To support your child’s success, please ensure they are getting adequate sleep, ideally going to bed before 10:00 p.m. and that they have a healthy snack and a reusable water bottle before arriving at school each day.

Looking ahead, we invite parents of students entering Grades 7 and 8 to attend our upcoming PRIME Trip Information Session on Tuesday. This is a valuable opportunity to learn more about this unique educational experience. The schedule is as follows:

  • Grade 7 presentation: 5:00 p.m.
  • Grade 8 presentation: 5:35 p.m.

Students were informed earlier this week, and now it’s your turn to explore what makes this trip such a powerful learning opportunity. We hope to see you there!

As the school year draws to a close, we encourage you to savor these final weeks. This is a time to connect, reflect, and celebrate everything that makes our community so special. Though some members of our community will be moving on, their impact will remain. Cairo American College is more than a school, it is a vibrant, joyful place that brings meaning to our families’ lives.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support of our Middle School.

In Partnership,
Courtney Bailey
The Middle School Principal
