Middle School Principal’s Letter
Dear Parents,
Thank you for reading this week’s version of the News and Views. It was photo week in the middle school. We also had some students who needed to finish taking the MAP test, and we will be sending the results out soon.
We had STUCO elections on Tuesday morning. It was great to see 20 courageous students get on stage and speak to their peers. The speeches encompassed a range of topics. Some were serious and funny, others were reflective.

I want to thank the grade-six parents who attended the digital well-being morning session. The shared experience was powerful, and the conversation was rich and meaningful. As I mentioned, we need to be in alignment as we help students find the focus that has been lost. The research shows that we develop the habit of focus by being sufficiently interested in something that we notice what’s going on and process it.
Food for thought:
The way we learn to focus is automatic if there’s something that interests us, or absorbs us, or thrills us. However, if you are a child today, you spend almost all of your life following the instructions of adults. Therefore, how do kids find meaning when their day is filled, from seven in the morning to nine at night, when they go to bed, with somebody else’s idea of what is important?
In Design Technology, students work on sketches before creating the program on the 3-D printer.
During our Wednesday Wellness, students were engaged in Hula Hooping.
Thank you for your continuous support of the middle school.
In Partnership,
Courtney Bailey
