Middle School Principal’s Letter
Dear Parents,
Thank you for reading this week’s edition of News and Views. This week’s focus was on Parent-Teacher Conferences.
We were delighted to see so many parents in attendance over the day and a half. These conferences offer an important opportunity for you and your child to gain firsthand insight into their progress so far this school year. We strongly encourage students to attend these meetings alongside their parents, as it allows them to share their reflections and goals directly with their teachers. This partnership helps parents better understand how to support their child’s growth, because, as always, the home–school connection is essential for every child to flourish.
Due to the large number of Grade 8 students, we realized that we’ll need to adjust the Spring Parent-Teacher Conferences schedule. This will allow more parents to meet with teachers during the designated days, reducing the need for separate bookings.
In Disruptive Innovation and Technology, students are exploring with VR headsets after developing their own programs.

In French class, students wrote about their experiences on the PRIME Trip to Siwa. They then used a rubric to give meaningful peer feedback, an excellent exercise in supporting one another’s learning.

In grade seven, Social Studies students are preparing for their debate by learning how to be persuasive.

Anne of Green Gables has come to CAC!
Our Middle School performers have been working hard, and Mr. McCuaig has assembled a full orchestra to accompany them. I’m thrilled to see a full two-act musical with live orchestra returning to the CAC stage! We hope to see you at one of the upcoming performances. The show runs approximately two hours and fifteen minutes, including a short intermission. Tickets will be available next week.
We also invite you to join us on November 26 for a special Lunch on the MS Lawn with your child. We’ll provide picnic blankets, but you’re welcome to bring your own as well.
Finally, today we say goodbye to Ms. Fahmy, who has been part of our Middle School community for the past ten years. We will miss her warmth and friendly smile. She is relocating to Germany to join her husband, and we wish her all the very best in her new chapter.
Join us in welcoming Ms. Saleh, who will be replacing Ms. Fahmy. Please pass by to welcome her when you get a chance.
Food For Thought:
When you’re only halfway interested in something, you’ll lose to someone obsessed. It won’t even be close.
It’s worth asking why.
Small advantages compound over time like interest in a bank account, so being 10% more committed doesn’t give you 10% better results; it gives you 10x better results. Think of it like studying: the genuinely curious person will remember and connect ideas in ways that the person just trying to pass will never. Being all in doesn’t just beat partially in; it crushes it.
Thank you for your continuous support of the middle school.

Anne of Green Gables
Next week the Middle School Performers will present a story about an imaginative, creative, high-spirited orphan, Anne Shirley. Her adventures take place on Prince Edward’s island, Canada. It’s the turn of the century and this small town finds itself being pushed into the progressive future with Anne at the helm.
This full two act musical is not to be missed. It features a full orchestra, incredible sets and props, and of course, a 45 strong ensemble both on and back stage! Tickets are on sale in each Divisional Office, with Ms. Dolly, and at the Theater door on the performance days.
Wednesday, November 19th and Thursday, November 20th the performance begins at 6pm. Friday, November 21st, the performance begins at 1pm. The musical runs 2 hours and 15 minutes, including a short intermission.
Looking forward to welcoming you all to the Theater!
