Middle School Principal’s Letter
Dear Parents,
Thank you for reading this week’s edition of News and Views! It’s been a wonderful week of giving thanks, filled with school spirit and community pride. Thank you for accepting the invitation to come on campus and have lunch with your child. It was lovely to see.

Spirit Week Highlights
Spirit Week kicked off on Sunday with Pajama Day, and the participation from students and teachers was incredible! Each day brought a new theme and a fun advisory event during lunch. The energy on campus was contagious, seeing everyone dressed up and enjoying themselves reminded us what makes our school community so special.

Anne of Green Gables – A Musical Success!
Congratulations to Mr. McCuaig and Ms. Shalaby for directing an amazing production of Anne of Green Gables! The performers were outstanding, a true showcase of talent and passion. The live orchestra was a special treat and elevated the experience for everyone in attendance. A special thank you as well to Ms. Maia Bassett for designing the beautiful programs (Playbill). Her work was professional and creative, reflecting the excellence of our faculty.

Second Season Sports Begin
Our second sports season is underway with football for both boys and girls. The students are having a fantastic time getting back on the field and enjoying the season.

GSS Luncheon – Gratitude for Our Volunteers
We also want to extend heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers who supported the GSS luncheon whether by donating food, time, or energy. It was truly wonderful to see everyone working together, from organizing and receiving meal deliveries to distributing them with warmth and enthusiasm. Your teamwork and positive spirit made this event especially meaningful for our GSS teams, it wouldn’t have been the same without you.

Food For Thought:
Can you for be grateful for things that didn’t happen?
We’re wired to thank people for what they do. But are we overlooking what they refrain from doing?
To be grateful to the people around us—especially when we recognize that it’s easy to give advice and help, but it takes wisdom to stay silent.
Ask yourself:
- What’s something you’ve taken for granted that could have easily gone wrong—but didn’t?
- When did you narrowly miss a very bad outcome?
- Who showed you grace by withholding judgment and discipline when you deserved it?
- Who honored your autonomy by not giving you unnecessary help and advice?
In the end, gratitude isn’t just about what’s seen and said—it’s also about the criticisms swallowed, the advice people resisted giving, and the disasters we narrowly missed.
Thank you for your continuous support of the middle school.
