Middle School Principal’s Letter
Dear Parents,
Thank you for taking the time to read this week’s version of the news and views. I want to thank all the fathers and mothers who were in attendance this morning to the Principal Coffee Morning. We had close to fifty attendees in the room. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to hear the message of why “The World Needs a Father”, and our keynote speaker was very passionate in his delivery. Bassem Malek started off the presentation by talking about why the movement is so important for him. He ended with a short video clip featuring the former House Speaker Paul Ryan.
The World Needs a Father movement will be holding a workshop on November 23rd, from
10:00 – 6:00 pm in the MS auditorium. For those fathers and mothers who attended the Coffee Morning presentation, you had a taste of what is to come. Please invite your friends and family members. We will provide lunch and a t-shirt for everyone who attends. We are asking that you donate 100LE to cover the cost of lunch and the t-shirt.
In Design technology, our students are creating and designing their own projects. During my visit, some students were working independently and others in collaboration. I particularly noticed three students highly engaged in building their version of a soccer goal from scratch. When I inquire what was the purpose of the goal, the students explained that they have invented a game that is a cross between table tennis and soccer. They are going to write the rules and get their classmates to play it.
On Saturday, November 9th the CAC cross country team made a great first impression in the new ISAA league. With the temperature in the single digits, the junior programs put on a great performance to start the morning. Both junior teams being lead by 8th graders, eventually took home the silver medal for the divisional team and CAC as a team, placing second overall just behind the International School of Basel. To get the day started, the junior girls’ team was led by an impressive performance from newcomer Usha Hollema who took first overall in the race. She followed by teammates Nour Ziwar (10th), Malak Rashad (13th), and Bayleigh Donhauser (21st). On the boy’s side, CAC was led by second-year runner Jacob Lanpher with an overall fifth-place finish. He was followed closely by teammates Revius Norris (6th), Brooks Livsey (10th), Miki Hirasawa (11th) and Jude Yeo (14th). A job well done by the team! #cairogold
Thank you for your continuous support of the middle school.
In Partnership,
Courtney Bailey
Middle School Principal
