Middle School Principal’s Letter

Dear Parents,

Thank you for reading this week’s version of the News and Views. It is hard to believe, but I will say it nevertheless, this was our last full week of school.

I want to thank our team leaders for organizing the final grade level meeting of the year. Students had an opportunity to say farewell speeches to friends who are not returning to CAC in the fall. They also celebrated the Soaring Eagles Award winners given by their peers and teachers for practicing our Core Values.

Mabrouk! To our team leaders, Mr. Miller, Mrs. Medina, and Mr. Kasal. They have worked diligently with me for the past three years to make the middle school a safe and nurturing environment. All three will be stepping down this year. Ms. Medina and Mr. Medina will be moving on to Nigeria for their next international school journey. Mr. Barens is also moving on after three years and will be returning to the USA. Mr. and Mrs. Kumar will be moving to Ethiopia in the fall for their next international experience. I want to say a special THANK YOU for all that you have contributed to CAC over the years, and I want to wish you the best of luck next year. You will all be missed.

The week was busy with Grade eight students wrapping up their studies as they prepare to embark on the summer and prepare for high school.

In Grade seven, students are finishing up their studies and are looking forward to being the leaders in middle school when we return in the fall.

Some of our current six graders will be taking part in a panel discussion on Sunday, June 7th, with our incoming 5th graders who will be the six-graders in the fall. Middle school students are naturally at a crossroads with their social development at this transitional age, but when the actual transition to a new school is added into the mix, the difficulties become more challenging.

Students are trying to build new friendships and maintain the ones they already have. The explanations of procedures and expectations with young adolescent’s social and emotional development are fundamental to us because they are moving to an environment where more self-regulation will be required due to the freedom they will have. We are looking forward to welcoming them to six-grade.

We will be honoring our grade eighth students, at 6:00 pm Thursday, June 4th for successfully completing three years of middle school. Parents will receive an invitation with the google link for the virtual meeting. I am looking forward to seeing all grade eight parents and students in attendance.

Thank you for your continuous support of the middle school.

In Partnership,

Courtney Bailey
Middle School Principal

Cairo USAGSO Girls Scouts Council supports a Happy Bride!
Just before Eid El Fetr Holiday, Cairo USAGSO Girls Scouts Council donated the amount of $500 to Awlady Orphange. This amount was used to support their top priority need which was to help a young lady to purchase items to prepare for her marriage during the Eid holiday. The happy bride was excited to buy: perfumes, makeup, kitchen cabinet, baskets, mats, and other stuff that she needed. To know more about Awlady Orphange, please click here

Thank you Cairo USAGSO Girls Scouts Council for making this possible for the happy bride.
