Middle School Principal’s Letter

Dear Parents,

Thank you for reading this week’s version of the News and Views. It is a busy week for students as they take the end of semester summative assessments and complete projects. The students need your support more than ever to help them get through the remaining days before the winter break.

I am sure we are looking forward to the end of this year. Although it has been a challenging year, we have to take a moment and think about the takeaways. I believe that families were brought closer together due to the pandemic. The students found a new love for the school and all that it has to offer. Having experienced how quickly they could lose it all, students appreciate the little things now. The home-school partnership has never been strong. I see teachers and parents having more appreciation for each now.

As I mentioned in my principal coffee morning, we were successful from August to December with our mitigation protocols because you supported us. During these challenging times, the CAC community practiced our core values of integrity, compassion, responsibility, courage, and respect. We appreciate you having kept your child home when they were sick and letting us know when a family member came into contact with someone who had the virus.

Thank you to the Booster club for the hot cocoa and Christmas themed cookies. It was a nice treat for our students to have. We appreciate the creative ways you have managed to stay engaged with the school community.

Kudos! To Mr. McCuaig and Mr. Dzamashvili for the Balcony Series of Band, Strings, and Choir music organization. It was beautiful to see our students performing in front of an audience during break and lunchtime. Today it ended with a concert on the MS lawn.

The grade six students managed to surpass their goal to raise LE33,000 for the African Hope Learning Center. The sixth-grader will be going around and collecting from everyone who sponsored them. Afterward, they will go and purchase the items to put in the gift bags.

We are collecting laptops and chargers on Wednesday, Dec 16th. The sixth graders will be going off on a field trip to the Wadi on the 16th and 17th of December.

Thank you for your continuous support of the middle school.

In Partnership,

Courtney Bailey
Middle School Principal
