Middle School Principal’s Letter
Dear Parents,
Thank you for taking the time to read this week’s version of the News and Views. We had a fantastic week of exploring, learning, and having fun!
The students continue to amaze me with their creativity and artistic ability.
The students continue to impress us with academics and courage. This week, a teacher asked students to share one word they want to build their yearly goal around. It was humbling to see the words they chose and why they selected them.
Congratulations to our students in grades 6, 7, and 8 who received 5 ‘E’s for their academic prowess.
I want to congratulate our core values award recipients for semester one. It was empowering to hear what their peers and teachers had to say about them:
Heeyoon‘s peers appreciated her kindness towards everyone no matter what, always greeting others and speaking with kindness in her words.
Champa‘s peers and teachers also recognized her consistent efforts and reliability. As a friend, a student, a stage manager, or a lighting board operator, she takes on challenges without hesitation, approaching commitments with courage. She is always there when you need her.
Lela received several teachers and student nominations describing her as “honest, creative, fun, and consistently does the right thing even when nobody is watching her.”
Bilal’s peers and teachers described him with one main word: respect. The word came up repeatedly among his peers.
Maira was described as showing effort and courage in all that she did. “She encourages others to persevere and overcome challenges, supporting others with kindness, respect, and honesty.”
Finally, Ahmed was nominated to be exhibiting creativity in his life through music, creative problem solving, and writing.
Thank you for your continuous support of the middle school.
In Partnership,
Courtney Bailey
The Middle School Principal
