Middle School Principal’s Letter

Dear Parents,

Thank you for taking the time to read this week’s version of the News and Views. It was a busy week of teaching, learning, and having fun in middle school.

It was the start of the COP 27th conference in Sharm el Sheikh. Five middle school students attended the Beyond COP 21 symposium at El Alsson. Here is the presentation.

Last Thursday, we concluded a busy week in middle school with the Talent show. It was a fantastic evening with our performers demonstrating our core values of courage and creativity. It is a precious opportunity for us to see our students in a different light and see what talents they have outside the classroom. Some performances left you asking how did they do that; or that was some impressive piano playing. We want to thank the parents for supporting your child in developing their talent and sharing it with us on such a special occasion.

A huge congratulations to all the performers and the teacher’s dance group for adding a little flare to the evening. Thank you to Ms. Torky, Ms. Spencer, Ms. Fahmy, and Ms. Fides for organizing a fun evening.

We launched the Battle of the Books in the MS hall to kick off the week. Last year we had over 70 students who formed teams and participated. This year we are hoping for the number to increase because of the terrific books the students will be reading.

The Mesopotamia Museum projects were on display on Tuesday morning. Have you had a chance to see the work of the students? Who was expanding their knowledge and unlocking their creativity?

Thank you for your continuous support of the middle school.

In Partnership,
Courtney Bailey
The Middle School Principal
