Middle School Principal’s Letter

Dear Parents,

Thank you for taking the time to read this week’s version of the News and Views. We are pleased to welcome you back after spending quality time with friends and families during the winter break.

I want to extend a special warm welcome to our new families in the CAC community. We are happy to have you here and look forward to continuing to grow our community together.

We thank our PTO and Booster club parent volunteers who helped us make the first-semester fun. We are looking forward to continuing the partnership during the second semester.

As a school, we pride ourselves on our commitment to service learning, and our Grade 6 students stepped up this year through various initiatives to raise funds and donate books for the African Hope students. They showcased their creativity, perseverance, entrepreneurial spirit, and competitive streak (you have no idea!). They did this through bake sales with roving sales units -even staying after school-a walkathon, a raffle, and book donations.

They also took part in assembling the gift bags and wrote beautiful Christmas card bookmarks. We aim to raise LE 34,500, hoping to make it to LE 40,000. The students surprised us, however, and managed to raise LE 57,000! We are very proud of their efforts and their strong sense of compassion, which motivated them to make sure that each student at African Hope could have something meaningful from us to bring them a sense of cheer before the end of the year.

Here is a video showcasing their efforts this semester, which includes the heart-warming reception of the African Hope students to our Grade 6 student ambassadors, who visited them to deliver the gift bags. Well done, Grade 6!

Thank you for your continuous support of the middle school.

In Partnership,
Courtney Bailey
The Middle School Principal

Community Core Values Award
To honor our community’s involvement, the CAC Board of Trustees every year seeks to recognize members of our community through the CAC Community Core Values award. This award is presented to members of our community who exhibit the CAC core values by making exceptional and varied contributions to the CAC community through volunteering their time, expertise and love for CAC. The CAC Core Values are: Compassion, Creativity, Courage, Integrity, Perseverance, Respect, and Responsibility.

If you know of someone who has made a difference in the lives of our CAC community while exhibiting these core values, please nominate this person for the Core Values Award. The nomination form is available here. Forms can also be obtained from the Board Executive Assistant, Nawal Gamal, on the 3rd floor of the Admin Building or via email board@cacegypt.org.
Nominations are due no later than 3:00 pm on February 2, 2023. All members of the parent community – not currently on the Board of Trustees – are eligible to be considered for this award. Faculty and staff can also be considered so long as they make contributions to the community that are above and beyond their regular, expected duties. Thank you for taking the time to acknowledge the contributions of outstanding members of our CAC community.
