Middle School Principal’s Letter

Dear Parents,

Thank you for reading this week’s version of News and Views. It was a week of celebrating our students for their tremendous hard work.

A special thank you to Mr. McCuaig and Mr. Dzamashvili for the afternoon of breathtaking music. It was a mass performance with the HS/MS Choir, band, and strings as they performed one song; “Sweet Child of Mine” I want to thank Mr. Kasal and Mr. Perez for accompanying the musicians.

This week we recognized students for living by the core values.

As the school year comes to a close we have a lot to be thankful for. The students are working up until the last week of school with the sixth-graders doing their Tales of CAC Project. Students are interviewing staff and alumni as part of their final project.

The eighth graders are off to Alexandria on Sunday morning for an overnight field trip to Al-Alamein to visit the El-Alamein War Museum and Memorial Cemeteries as a part of our World War II study. The WW II simulation will take place next week. We look forward to seeing all eighth grade parents in attendance.

We are proud of our Musical Cabaret students for the awesome performance they did on Wednesday. It took a lot of courage to write their own monologue and perform it in front of an audience. Once again our students impress and shine brightly on stage.

All students received their schedule for next year in advisory on Tuesday morning. This was an effort to be proactive and help students to be prepared when they return after the summer break.

Thank you for your continued support of the middle school.

In Partnership,
Courtney Bailey
The Middle School Principal

Dear Parents,
If your student is entering grade next school year, we ask that she/he is seen and examined by a doctor and that a physical form be completed and sent to the health office on or before the first day of school in August.
We are more than happy to accept early completed physicals.
Many thanks,

Grade 9 Orientation Meeting – August 18th, 2024

Hello, Grade 8 parents,
Earlier this week, the high school counselors met with the current 8th graders during their advisory to continue our communication about the transition to high school.
As you know, we met with them earlier this spring for their course selections and an introduction to high school.
This week, we had them meet some of our Grade 9 teachers in person so they could go over some concepts of what to expect in their classes next year.
We also had a Grade 9 Student Panel talk to them about topics that are important for a smooth transition to high school, such as time management, grading, Study Hall, off campus privileges, general expectations as a high schooler and more.

We hope that putting names to faces of some high school teachers and high school peers will help set the 8th graders at ease as they envision their life next year as a high schooler.
We will continue to provide information at the upcoming orientation for them in August.

Please have your 8th graders mark their calendar for Grade 9 Orientation on Sunday, August 18th from 12 noon to 1 pm.
Parents do NOT need to attend, but please make sure your student has transportation that day to attend their orientation on campus.
We will provide them lunch at the end of orientation, and the students will receive their class schedules on that day.
We will meet in the CAC theater, and then we will  have a tour of the high school building, meet more high school teachers,
plus we will go over what to expect the first few days and weeks of 9th grade.

Please email cbean@cacegypt.org if you have any questions about orientation, schedules or anything else as your 8th graders becomes a high schooler.

Your HS Counselors: C Bean, K. Semler & J Stiles
