Middle School Principal’s Letter

Dear Parents,

Thank you for taking the time to read this week’s version of the News and Views. It was a week of exploring, learning, and having fun.

The AMIS students returned from a successful trip to Tunisia. Here is a link to view the entire performance. From the AMIS Choir students. “This year, the AMIS choir went to Tunisia. While there, we reviewed the songs we had practiced for the last few months. We toured the Sidi Bou Said market and the Museum of Music as a break. We made new friends and memories. The concert went spectacularly, and we left with a feeling of satisfaction. This was a trip that will live in our memories forever.

This week, we also had students who excel in math and wish to challenge themselves to take the AMC test. In total, 17 students took the test. The test is open to students in grades 10 and below. While colleges also look at standardized tests such as the SAT, contests like the AMC are not only more difficult but are pre-selective; typically, only people who are decent at math, to begin with, will take the test, which means that being in the top 10% of AMC scorers will put you in a smaller pool of people.

Today, we met with the current grade six students to review the course selection process in Skyward for the 2025-26 school year. The window will be open on Skyward from Jan 30th to Feb 4th at 3:05pm.

We hope you will join us tonight for the talent show. If you have never attended one of the performances before, you are in for a treat. It promises to put a smile on your face. The talent show is a fantastic opportunity for our students to display courage.

Here are some upcoming highlights:

  • Grade 6. – The Museum of Mesopotamia will be on display on Monday, February 3rd, from 7:50 – 8:20 in the MS Hall.
  • We will be hosting a Career Day on February 20th. You should have received an email inviting you to participate. Please respond to Ms. Spencer if you are interested. (bspencer@cacegypt.org).

Thank you for your continued support of the Middle School.
