Middle School Principal’s Letter

Dear Parents,

Thank you for taking the time to read this week’s version of the News and Views. It was a busy week with school photos and solid teaching and learning.

Next week’s MAP test will begin on Sunday, September 17th, with Language Usage, followed by Math on Monday and Reading the following Sunday. Please open the link if you would like to learn more about MAP testing. We are asking that your child gets enough sleep the night before.

Each year, the International Day of Peace is observed worldwide on September 21st. This year, we will celebrate Peace Day on Wednesday, September 20th, in the theater from 12:00pm to 12:30pm. If you wish to attend, we ask that you wear white. We have a fun-packed assembly that middle school students will participate in.

We gave out the first set of Soaring Eagles Certificates on Wednesday, and the students were ecstatic to receive them.

We invite all grade-six parents to an afternoon tea on Monday, September 25th, from 3:30 to 4:30pm. This will allow parents to learn more about middle school and what skills will help their child settle into grade six and navigate the school year seamlessly.

Thank you for your continuous support of the middle school.

In Partnership,
Courtney Bailey
The Middle School Principal

Announcements

From the PTO
This Tuesday, the PTO had our first bake sale of the year.
We were so impressed with the support from our incredible community; both from the volunteers who donated their time and creations and the students, parents, and staff who purchased and enjoyed the goodies. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Our next bake sale will be Tuesday, September 19th after school.

Speaking of after school nibbles, Fresh & Co is offering their menu of drinks and snacks. You’ll find them in the ES Cafeteria Sunday-Wednesday from 2:30-4.10% of the proceeds from those sales benefit the PTO. We are happy to be able to bring this option back to campus and are so grateful for your support.

Our Halloween committees are hard at work already. We extend our thanks to the parents who stepped up to lead the decorations and carnival committees as well as all the volunteers who are committing their time and talents to bring this fun tradition to life. Keep your eyes open for details on how to donate candy or non-food items in support of the fun.

Important dates: The New Parent Felucca will be next Thursday, September 21st. Our next PTO General Meeting will be held Sunday September 24th at 1:30pm in the PTO lounge.

We want your ideas! Please follow us on Instagram page and join our Facebook Group for announcements and community conversations. All of our programs run on volunteer support and events are organized through committees. If you’d like to see how you can contribute to the community through the PTO please join our WhatsApp Group.

CAC Middle School All Pro Dad Chapter!
We are excited to announce that the CAC All Pro Dad Chapter’s first event of the school year
is scheduled for 26 October.
All Pro Dad is a monthly gathering where dads get to intentionally engage with their kids!
This of course is not just limited to dads, but all children must be accompanied by an adult.
There will be fun activities and a character-based curriculum that helps parents start meaningful conversations with their kids.

Our first gathering is scheduled for 26 October at 7:00 am and we would love to see you there.
October’s topic is Communication. To communicate is to give and receive information—and it’s important to do that well. When we improve our communication, our relationships get healthier, and navigating tough situations starts to get easier.

If you would like to come, please RSVP here! https://allprodadchapters.com/chapters/13407

For more information or questions, contact our team captain, Craig Tippins, at this email: AllProDadCAC@gmail.com
