CAC High School Principal’s Notes

The faculty were deeply grateful to our wonderful Parent Teacher Organization today as we all met together at lunchtime to enjoy a beautiful lunch that was provided by our parents. The annual Teacher Appreciation Lunch is a fixture in the CAC calendar and I would like to reach out and give my thanks to all of our parent community for the wonderful support you show for our school through the course of the year.

Girls Get Strong 2023

The campus was ablaze with positive energy last week as the Girls Get Strong event took center stage, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts and minds of all who attended. This empowering gathering, dedicated to the health and wellbeing of young women, proved once again to be a resounding success, thanks to the dedication and passion of both participants and the incredible team of volunteer contributors. From invigorating fitness sessions to insightful discussions on holistic health, the event was a celebration of strength, resilience, and the power of knowledge. We couldn’t be prouder of our girls who eagerly embraced the opportunity to enhance their physical and mental well-being. A heartfelt thank you extends to the tireless volunteers whose commitment and enthusiasm made this event a reality. Here’s to the strength within, and to the bright, healthy futures that lie ahead for all the inspiring young women who participated.

Looking ahead, in classes over the next two weeks more time will be devoted to preparing our students for the end of semester exams. These cumulative assessments will take place for all students in grade 9 through 12 and they provide a valuable insight into how students are doing academically as they progress through the courses. For our Grade 9 students, this will be the first set of formal high school exams they have experienced and as such they may naturally be feeling a little anxious about it. As parents, you can help by reassuring your children that through carefully planned study, working collaboratively with their teachers, and taking a balanced and healthy approach to life in the run-up to the exams they will inevitably perform well. You can also access the presentation from last week’s parent coffee where we discussed semester exams [here]. Please also find a link to effective study skills resources that were shared during the session.

Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend.

Grade 6 African Hope Bake Sale at Lunch!

The Grade 6 students are working to raise funds for the children of the African Hope Learning Center by hosting bake sales during lunchtime on Wednesday, November 29 at 11:15 in front of the library. We will also collect children’s books to give to the African Hope students, so please bring any children’s books in good condition that you would like to donate and place them in the red donation box at the front gate.
