CAC High School Principal’s Notes

“The Giver”

It has been a wonderful week for the arts in high school. We rounded out last week with the powerful performance of “The Giver”, showcasing the impact of theatrical storytelling when an ensemble of committed students comes together to design a thought-provoking and engaging experience for the audience.

IB Art Exhibition

This was followed hot on the heels by the opening of the fabulous IB Art Exhibition on Sunday. The exhibition is still proudly on display on the third floor of the high school if you would like to swing by and visit. The talented visual artists in the IB class displayed their work for the public and enjoyed engaging with people to discuss their artistic processes and visions. The IB work was accompanied by fantastic displays from our studio and digital arts classes as well.

Varsity Dance Festival

As if that wasn’t enough, on Monday night, we had a tremendous performance from this year’s varsity dance team. They entertained us with their physical storytelling before taking us on a journey through decades of music and dance in a joyous celebration of physical creativity.

STEM Competition

CAC also hosted a STEM competition campus last weekend where students passionate about coding, robotics and other STEM-related fields competed with each other through various challenges.

Girls Basketball team in Athens

Send all your best wishes to our Eagles athletics teams who are currently in Europe competing at various ISAA tournaments. The varsity basketball teams and our swimming squad are representing CAC in their normal excellent fashion. We look forward to hearing about their results at the end of the weekend. Go Eagles!

After a busy and focused few weeks of learning, we have finally reached the end of Quarter 3. Although they remain engaged and committed, it is clear our students are tired and will enjoy taking a short break before embarking on the final learning quarter of the year. Progress reports for Q3 will be issued shortly after the break, and you will be invited to join us at parent-teacher-student conferences the following week on March 26th and 27th.

Wishing you all a wonderful and safe Spring Break, wherever you may be spending it. Ramadan Kareem!

Learn-To-Swim
The Learn-To-Swim program is for new or beginner to intermediate-level swimmers ages 3 years old and up to help them improve their swimming skills and water safety knowledge. It’s a great program for swimmers who are not yet ready for the swim team but still want to be involved in swimming activities. Learn-to-swim classes begin at 3:25 pm and end at 4:15 pm.

A few items to bring to your attention :
• Classes are held every Tuesday from March 19th- May 14th, 2024.

• There are no lessons on early release days.
• Program fees are $90 for the 9-week session.

Children are not allowed on campus unsupervised after the school day. Parents are responsible for dropping in and picking up their children at the pool area for the class.

CAC All Pro Dad – March 28

Hello everyone! The next CAC All Pro Dad meeting is scheduled for 28 March.

All Pro Dad is a monthly gathering where dads get to intentionally engage with their kids! This of course is not just limited to dads, but all children must be accompanied by an adult. There will be fun activities and a character-based curriculum that helps parents start meaningful conversations with their kids.

The next meeting is scheduled for 28 March at 7:00 am and it would be great to see you there.

March’s topic is Resilience. A person who’s resilient can recover fast after experiencing something difficult. When we’re resilient, we bounce back after a hardship instead of staying down after it hits us.

If you would like to come, please RSVP here! https://allprodadchapters.com/chapters/13407
