Middle School Principal’s Letter

Dear Parents,
Thank you for taking the time to read this week’s version of the news and views. We have a three day week with the celebration of the Islamic New Year holiday. I hope you enjoy your long weekend.

While we never thought we’d see a school year like this, we know that together, we can meet this moment. It was fantastic to see the students back on campus going through our health and safety orientation.

Our students, new and old, had to navigate a new school environment that is under strong mitigation protocols. It is our hope that teachers and students will adjust quickly and together we can be stronger.

Thanks for your continuous support of the middle school.

In Partnership,

Courtney Bailey
Middle School Principal

From the MS/HS Library

Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year!
We are happy to be back on campus. Mitigation measures are in place at the library too, and we are looking forward to helping students with their research and reading this year.

COVID mitigation in the CAC Libraries
Please read this document to see the procedures we have put in place to keep our staff and the CAC community safe. It will be updated as circumstances require it.

All library materials due
All library materials checked out after March 11 are now due back in the library. There will be a drop box at the front gate this week for book returns. After Sunday, August 30, books must be returned to the MHS library itself. Overdue notices will go out on August 23 and will continue monthly throughout the year. Please clear your library accounts now to start the year fresh. Failure to return library materials on time will result in blocked Skyward access.

Please note that returned library materials will stay in quarantine for 72 hours, and will be checked in after that, so patrons may see books they returned on the monthly overdue notice.

Weekly notices
An email from the library system with everything that has been checked out by a student will also go out on Sunday. Not everything on that notice is overdue. This email is meant to help students pack the books they need to return. As stated above, books are quarantined for 72 hours, so they may still appear on the notice even when they have been returned.

To check your library account, simply visit the library catalog, library.cacegypt.org, choose your division, (parents all choose the ES library collection regardless of where their students attend) and log in with their CAC single sign on. The tab “My Info” will have a real-time list of materials checked out.
