Middle School Principal’s Letter
Thank you for taking the time to read this week’s version of the News and Views. It was our first full week back to school. The students are enjoying the freedom they have now that we are in phase three. However, as we all know, with freedom comes responsibility.
We are doing our part to be responsible by maintaining the layered mitigation protocol we have in place already. We are asking that you maintain a level of mitigation at home as well. We are in this together, and if we work in partnership, we will be stronger, as we demonstrated last school year.
Back To School Night will be taking place next week, Tuesday, August 31, beginning at 5:00 pm.
We will be using WebEx as our virtual platform. To access the site, you must sign in using your CAC account. Teachers will not be giving access to anyone using a non-CAC email. If you don’t have one, please contact (email@example.com) and make sure to get all the access info before the BTSN.
Please check the MS Back to School Night Webex Instructions HERE. I will start with a big-picture overview of the new school year; then, each child’s parents will have a more intimate advisory session with advisory teachers for 10 -1 5 minutes. Your child’s advisory teacher will share a link with you. Parents will have an opportunity to watch a short video by each of their child’s teachers. We will share the links to these early next week.
We will begin our Fall athletics/activities season during the week of September 12th. We will start with intramurals, volleyball, and flag football. Our activities for season one will be announced on September 5th. We need your support to get as many students to participate as possible. Studies have shown that physical activity helps with the child’s physical, mental, and social development during the middle school years.
I will have a New Parent Coffee Morning on September 8th, beginning at 8:15 AM. A link will be shared with you in the morning announcements next week. We will use WebEx; therefore, you need to use your CAC email account to get into the meeting.
Congratulations to all of our community for the triumphant return to campus. We have no doubt our perspectives of cautious optimism and positivity will carry us during these times.
Thank you for your continuous support of the middle school.
