CAC High School Principal’s Notes

Grade 12 Parents celebrate Valentines with their Seniors

Valentine’s Day always brings a certain je ne sais quoi to the high school corridors, and this year was no different. Student service groups took the opportunity to sell flowers, sweets, and cookies as a means of raising funds for their various projects. Our Grade 12 parents also took advantage of this special day to celebrate with their seniors. The Red Envelope tradition was started at CAC many years ago and revived last year by senior parents. Each senior received an envelope packed with letters and notes from family members all around the world to celebrate them and the imminent conclusion to their high school educational journey in a few months’ time. It was an emotional but wonderfully celebratory event on the high school balcony.

Girls Varsity Bball Team

Boys Varsity Bball Team

This weekend, our basketball teams are competing in a tournament at another international school across town in Cairo. We wish them every success. Go Eagles! Also this weekend, the entire CAC community will come together in a celebration of our wonderful, diverse internationalism. The PTO International Festival is a truly magnificent event here on campus on Friday. Please join us for this celebration.

“The Giver” in rehearsal

There are several important arts events on the horizon to look forward to. The high school production of “The Giver” will open its doors on February 28, and hot on its heels, the annual IB Art Exhibition will open on March 3. Following that, on March 4, the Varsity Dance team will be presenting a Dance Festival. We encourage our community members to join both of these events to acknowledge and enjoy the hard work of our arts students in both the theater and visual arts programs. (See times and locations below.)

Unbelievably, we are now six weeks into the third quarter, which will conclude on March 7. Shortly after the spring break, you will be receiving the Quarter Three Progress Check report and an invitation to join us for the second round of parent-student & teacher conferences on March 26. Now is a good time to check in with your child to ask questions about how their learning is going. You may also use this opportunity to check their progress in Skyward in terms of grades. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to our teachers or counseling team for support.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend ahead, and looking forward to seeing many of you on campus at the International Festival on Saturday.
