Highro Glyphics Newsletter Week of April 4, 2024

CAC High School Principal’s Notes

As we approach the conclusion of the third week of the final quarter of the school year, I would like to take this opportunity to encourage all our students (with the support of their parents) to persist in their commendable efforts and remain focused on the remaining curriculum as well as prepare themselves for the upcoming final assessments.

It is important to acknowledge that the next few weeks will be frequently interrupted with holidays here in Egypt. While these long weekends offer students a chance to rejuvenate during this potentially tiring time of year, it is imperative that they maintain their focus on their studies despite the potential disruption caused by short school weeks.

On April 18th, our IB Diploma students will have their final day of school. The following week, their IB examinations will commence and will span the next three weeks, concluding on May 17th. Approximately 60% of the current Grade 12 cohort are pursuing the full IB Diploma. Furthermore, nearly all Grade 12 students will be sitting for at least one IB examination, with many sitting for multiple exams. The next three weeks will undoubtedly be busy and intense for students undertaking IB examinations.

In addition to the IB exams, students enrolled in CAC courses for high school credit will continue attending their classes until the end of May, when the semester will culminate with Semester Two exams (27&28th May). For students in Grades 9 to 11, there are approximately 30 school days remaining before they too sit for their semester two exams.

It is evident that students must make the most of the available time between now and the end of the school year. Their dedication and perseverance during this crucial period will greatly contribute to their academic success.

Wishing all our families a peaceful weekend ahead and for those observing Ramadan, a wonderful Eid celebration next week. Eid Mubarak!

CAC All Pro Dad

Hello everyone! The next CAC All Pro Dad meeting is scheduled for 18 April.

All Pro Dad is a monthly gathering where dads get to intentionally engage with their kids! This of course is not just limited to dads, but all children must be accompanied by an adult. There will be fun activities and a character-based curriculum that helps parents start meaningful conversations with their kids.

The next meeting is scheduled for 18 April at 7:00 am and it would be great to see you there.

April’s topic is Forgiveness. To forgive means to let it go after somebody else has hurt you. Forgiveness isn’t forgetting or letting the person off the hook with no consequence. It is deciding you’re done being bitter about what happened.

If you would like to come, please RSVP here! https://allprodadchapters.com/chapters/13407

Support Mothers and Babies in Need!

During this Ramadan season, let’s come together to make a difference in the lives of mothers and babies in our community.

The Caritas Organization in Egypt is dedicated to providing medical visits for mothers who lack the means to do so for their babies. To support this cause, we’re collecting donations to create goodie bags for these mothers to take home after their visits.

Simply drop off your donations in the red box located at CAC’s front gate (March 26 – April 7). Your generosity will make a meaningful impact on the lives of these families. Let’s show our support and compassion during this special time of giving.

For more information on the donation drive – check the poster.
